Banyan Tree Mayakoba

10/10 will be back. This is a perfect place for either couples who want intimate and quiet, or kids!

We have stayed at this property at least 6 times. The first time in around 2016 was incredible. However, the service and food just keep getting worse. The best food is at the beach. The remainder of the food is extremely over priced with little variety and when it does arrive it is not good. We paid close to $100 for a seafood pasta that was terrible to say the least. The bikes are scarce to find and are not in good or safe condition and the side walks need repair as they make bike riding unsafe. I had an accident on a bike at the hotel, broke my nose and wrist. It took forever to get assistance. The guest relations did then move us to a larger room for the rest of the trip so our adult children could visit with us in comfort so that was helpful. We love the location of this hotel but not sure if we would go back again due to complete lack of service and terrible expensive food.

I have traveled the world and have never received better service. They hotel made our family feel like royalty. An absolutely ncredible experience.

We were upgraded to a 3 bedroom villa ocean front. It was spectacular and the staff couldn't have been more gracious. Rooms were impeccable and the pool was perfect. The beach is not meant for swimming but the sand was full of fun for my kids. I would recommend this place for anyone who wants to relax in a 5 star setting.

We wanted a resort where we can relax, enjoy some warm weather, and feel pampered. We booked the sanctuary/serenity pool villa, which had various amenities such as your own outdoor private heated pool and separate jacuzzi tub. We stayed for five nights and made sure to enjoy the resort. Normally we do a lot of activities, but this time we wanted to make sure to limit the activities and focus on relaxing. This resort is definitely a great place to just stay in and not go out because of all the amenities included in Mayakoba, such as the nature trail, golf course, tennis courts, various restaurants, etc. The service at Banyan Tree was quick and the staff was very nice and attentive. The staff responded quickly most of the time to our request to clean our pool/jacuzzi as well as bring ice. They're very accommodating always making sure we have what we need. Our villa included two bicycles for getting around the resort. There's also an option to have someone pick you up on a golf cart to get around as well, but we didn't take advantage of that service. Be prepared to have a lot of small bills for tipping. There are many restaurants to choose from that serve good food, but be ready to pay premium prices. If you like authentic tasting Thai food, I'd highly recommend going to Saffron. Although there were some times that we heard children screaming from the villa next door, this resort is the most romantic place I've ever been to.
