Hotel Palazzo Abadessa

We really enjoyed the Palazzo Abadessa. The last time we were in Venice we discovered how much more laid back the Canareggio district is compared to San Marco so decided to stay there this trip. Abadessa got great ratings and did not disappoint. It’s truly an old palace and it’s one of the few hotels in Venice with its own gardens, although be careful of the fairly aggressive pigeons stealing your food at breakfast. Our room had two levels and was outstanding for a family stay. The hotel also has its own water taxi dock which is very convenient (although not cheap: 70 euros each way from the train station). Overall highly recommend Palazzo Abadessa!

It is a bungalow!!! Very spacious and well kept. I was there with my wife and two grown up kids; 18 and 22. They all loved it. Its a walking distance from the canal stop. Upon checking in, the staff carried the heavy suitcases to the room. The outdoor sitting area is very pretty; do take out time to enjoy the breakfast in the court yard Very friendly and helpful staff

Our AC was not working and our room was right on the canal making it not only hot but super damp we mentioned it to front desk twice and we had a toddler with us and this was affecting her they assured us the AC will kick in but it did not after going back and forth my husband requested a fan, our daughter started a really bad cough and we are sure its from the dampness and the fact that the walls were decorated with not wallpaper but done sort of cloth we are sure it was moldy beneath that and it affected our daughters lungs
