The room smelled very bad , random unexpected knocking to the door . Filthy cloth towel found in the bathroom sink . Me and my kids never had this terrible experience before .

Overall location, staff, and facility was very good. Although they could not honor the two junior suites I reserved, they upgraded one of the rooms to a top floor room with an additional room (three rooms total) to compensate for the lack of a junior suite. Two issues of concern were: 1. There was some mold that was not cleaned in the shower of our bathroom. 2. City tax was almost added to our account upon checkout and it took about 20 minutes to checkout because the clerk had some difficulty consolidating the charges on a receipt to reflect the Expedia price I secured for my stay.

The staff were super lovely and apologetic for our experience but we did not have a great stay. In just two nights we had an endless amount of problems. I think it was down to the fact they put us in an old room. From electricity cutting out as soon as we entered, changing rooms 3 times to be given rooms which had not been turned over flyby house keeping. We were given keys to new rooms and we found dirty towels, someone else’s clothes and cups etc In them. So we ended up back in the original room after they managed to fix electricity only to later discover issues with the bath and sink drainage during our stay. Pigeons on the balcony/terrace whilst you attempt to eat breakfast offer an icing on the cake! Could hear kids screaming and doors slamming throughout either on the same floor or above the room. Concierge were friendly unfortunately they were alone at the desk so minimal help was possible and not their fault at all. Pros: Great location, Florence is amazing, first impressions of foyer were nice and beds were the most comfy in all our stays in Italy.

The hotel is beautiful. Very exquisitely decorated and clean. The staff however is horrible. We arrived very early and they agreed to hold our luggage for us. The greeting was pleasant and welcoming. When we got back to check in, the staff was not as polite. The bellhop pretty much asked for a tip (which I found forward and a little rude). Check out was a horrible experience. The woman who checked us out was very rude and unhelpful. I explained we had a train to catch in 20 minutes and she couldn't care less. We waited almost 25 minutes for her to finish up with the guest who was checking out before us and by the time our turn came, we were very pressed for time. She said that she was alone at the desk and she couldn't speed up. Luckily, my family had already left to make their way to the train station with the luggage and I was able to run there after I was done checking out (the whole process took 15 mins and left me 5 minutes to run to the train station). I do not understand why this hotel is rated so highly. It has a very weird, strong smell throughout and the staff was definitely not up to par. One positive experience was, I hurt my ankle while in Florence and the lady at the bar helped me with ice to help my swelling. That was the only positive experience at the hotel.
