Steigenberger Airport Hotel

Perfect place to stay if you’re looking for airport hotel options. Also facilitate baby beds and shuttle service

just the one thing I didn't like is the size of the room. I worried about it because I'm bringing my family back for two nights 1/1 and 1/2!!!!

This is a huge barn of a property. It is extremely cold and impersonal in both the public areas and in the rooms - at least in the one we had. While some of the desk staff were polite, others were totally impolite. One, unbelievably, didn’t even look up from what he was doing at the desk when I asked him a very simple question. Later, his colleague told me the hotel was having trouble recruiting decent staff. Around the front rotating door, which was smashed and looked hazardous, nothing is done to discourage dozens of smokers polluting the air where people, and people with children must wait for the shuttle bus. Many of the smokers are airline crew from certain airlines. Be careful you don’t get crushed when the bus arrives and they stampede. I am still trying to figure out why I stayed at this dismal place and not the usual Hilton Gardens in the airport- a far superior hotel and staff.

Check in staff very friendly and helpful. The room was perfect for our family.

The hotel Needs to have all day dining options considering it’s an airport hotel and checking could be later in the night. I was with 2 kids and the only snack Option available was for the voucher holders for delayed flights. We were told to go to a near by gas station to get some food. In the end - someone gave us 2 snack bags- but it never came voluntarily.

The hotel was very modern and clean. We chose it for proximity to the airport (we were flying out the next day) and for the kid friendly amenities. The staff was very professional and check-in went very smoothly (we had 4 rooms). We were traveling with our children and 7 grandchildren and were looking to use the pool and playground with them to occupy the time. When we got there we were told that the pool was down for maintenance. Then we were told that the playground was located in one of the restaurants, which was only open Monday thru Thursday and this was unavailable. In fact, of the 3 restaurants that they have in the hotel only 1 is open Friday - Saturday and is more of a bar/lounge. My frustration really came from the fact that the staff just had an “oh well” attitude about the whole thing. If you’re looking for a higher end business class hotel this is the one to go to. If you’re looking for something kid friendly this is not it.

Great service with decent lounge followed up with a really good breakfast. Rooms are pretty dated. Our TV didn’t work the night we stayed but was up in the morning (not life changing). The AC/heater panel didn’t work until the morning. They offered to send a technician up, but the kids were already in bed. Fortunately it wasn’t overly hot. All and all, hotel was great, rooms weren’t.

Unfortunately the family room was old and dated. We were charged a premium as all the hotels in the area were delayed due to an IT issues with Lufthansa. The bedsheets were old and stained. Room was not what we anticipated and we were left disappointed.

This hotel was very nice from the fixtures to the amenities to the staff. And we got a great price. Our family style room was spacious, attractive & very comfortable. The bathroom was large with lots of space for toiletries & a separate tub & shower. The only odd thing was that the bathroom had frosted glass doors rather than wooden doors so the person in the WC or the shower were rather visible from the room. In a couples room this would be no problem but it was a little odd in a family room with adult guest. But overall, we were very impressed with this hotel & would happily stay there again. The free airport shuttle was another big plus!

No complaints. Fast check in, airport shuttle, great room (seems updated from previous stay 3 years ago - executive tower) and outstanding breakfast. Solo trip this time but look forward to returning with family.
