Holiday Inn Frankfurt Airport, an IHG Hotel

The night staff was horrible. There was this one guy who was manning the desk and he was rude and curt and on top of it gave us a room with no air conditioning. The whole room was hot and stuffy. The hotel is big with so many empty rooms. I cannot believe he gave our family that one room where the AC didn’t work. We had to ask for a table fan which they gave us reluctantly past midnight. The front desk guy most likely could be new at the people facing job, that’s the only benefit of the doubt I can give him.

The hotel is close to the airport but difficult to reach (the walk is dangerous - not recommended to people with luggage and children). We were sent to a shuttle stop for the 'Holiday Inn' pickup (the sign clearly had 'Holiday Inn'). There were 5 people waiting, but the shuttle did not come. We rang them up but it look us 40 minutes to get in touch with someone at reception. We were told to take an airport bus and go to a different terminal and wait for a different shuttle (apparently the original stop was for the wrong Holiday Inn). How can people guess this? Reception has long queues and there is no information desk. There is no point in ringing them up because they don't answer the phone. This means that if you need anything at all (like trying to book and pay for the shuttle bus back to the airport), you always need to join the long line with people checking-in. If one is tired after a long trip, this experience is particularly painful. In summary, the service is *extremely* poor. Fortunately, the room was nice and clean.

Just stayed one night between flights. Very convenient to the S-bahn. Hotel shuttles aren't worth it, IMO since S-bahn is a 5 min walk away and trains run every 20 min. Brand new building, quiet rooms. Brought a baby and they delivered a nice wooden cot to the room gratis. Breakfast buffet is surprisingly good with range of American/English (beans, sausage, eggs) and German (Brot, Broetchen, Schinken, Birche Muesli, Quark) options in a very large breakfast room. Very good hash browns/roesti!
