The staff were all so helpful and lovely to deal with, occasionally the poolside food was a bit slow but the staff was apologetic and did their best to get it to us as quickly as possible, check in was easy, and they got us to a clinic very quickly after hours when one of us had an accidental interaction with a sea urchin. Drinks were delicious and fast, not watered down in the least (quite the opposit lol), they were good to our kids, a really lovely few days of down time at the end of our trip. Also - husband forgot his wedding band and they went out of their way to get it back to us as quickly as they could - thank you!

We traveled here for 4 nights with kids age 5-14. We did the all inclusive option. The beach location was nice. It was a public beach so no resort chairs or umbrellas were available. We felt safe here with children. Most of the food was just ok except the Italian restaurant was excellent. Food options were limited and quite slow. Drinks were great. Staff and service were excellent. The property was fairly small and there weren’t a lot of food or shopping options within walking distance. The rooms needed some upkeep, toilet was broken, air conditioning didn’t keep room very cool. Beds and pillows were not comfortable. Room was always very clean though. Overall, I’d give it an average rating.

The wait staff at the bars and restaurants was excellent - very friendly and personable. The property location on Flamingo beach is outstanding - one of the most beautiful, swimmable, beaches in the area. The resort is well managed and maintained. However, the rooms need maintenance and upgrades to sustain the pricing. Our Junior Family suite was well equipped but had dirty windows overlooking the parking lot. The bathroom fixtures had the finish worn off with miss-matched tile colors and almost no water pressure in the shower. However, the bedding and AC were top of the line. We traveled without children, but they have a large kiddie pool completely shaded by a palapa with plenty of pool toys, and a newer playground set. The pool stays open into the evening with soft music, allowing for a peaceful evening swim before heading to the “5 O’clock Somewhere” bar or one of three on-site locations for dinner.
Overall, our experience was very good - but upgraded bathrooms and some attention to the areas seen by half the guests (parking lot) could make the property Excellent!

We got a top floor room and we find out the ceiling was shaking very bad with loud noise because of all The roof top AC units, at 4 AM they agreed to change room to lower floor, and at 6 AM they started cutting wood with chainsaw for 2 days on the rows.. lots of kids in the pool..

We stayed with kids for 6 days. The hotel is not for a long stay. The pool was not clean enough, the resort restrooms weren’t clean as well. Only one main restaurant with mediocre food. We had an all inclusive option and sometimes ordered from menu. Would have to wait a long to get our food. The food wasn’t a good quality. No fruits during the lunch and dinner. No kids club and entertainment. No food options from 11 AM to 12 PM. The staff was not friendly at all. Liked the pool bar staff 👍. It was a headache to get a beach chairs. The beach is small with many locals. I don’t know what the others liked in this hotel I will not recommend to stay unless than 1 or 2 days. We arrived early and hotel had no options for early check in and it’s been first time happened that all inclusive hotel charged us extra 35$ per person just for staying at the property, before we were able to check in. Overall our room was pool view, clean and big enough with a balcony, but consider that no pool view rooms haven’t a balcony.

The Margaritaville at Playa Flamingo is a great resort. Good for both couples and families. Staff and service are amazing! My only negative comment would be about the food options. If you choose all inclusive, it can feel a bit repetitive. The Italian restaurant onsite is very good and this helps.
Overall, I do recommend staying at this resort.

We absolutely loved our stay at Margaritaville. We did the all inclusive option and it was totally worth it, even though we were not there all day. It was nice to come back to drinks and a nice meal.
There was plenty of food options. Banna wind for breakfast, great buffet. The Italian restaurant was delicious and we liked to hang out at 5 o'clock somewhere for a amazing sunset. There is a family of raccoons that are there and are not shy at all. The staff will chase them away if you do not like them, but for the most part we got used to them being around. The beach was great, you do have to cross a small road to get to it but its really not a big deal. We did the sunset cruise snorkeling tour and it was great!
I would highly recommend thisbplace for your stay in Costa Rica!

My family and I had a wonderful experience. The service was excellent and they were thoughtful and attentive with everything. The food was incredible as well. It was not crowded and really offered exactly what we needed.
