Conchal Hotel

It was relaxing and comfortable. We enjoyed our time there and will definitely return. The restaurant was wonderful and the staff made us feel like family.

This is like a hidden gem. Staff is like family. Rooms are great. And the town is so fun. Don’t go to the resort. Stay local. You’ll love your trip that much more.

We really enjoyed our 9-night stay at this small, very friendly hotel near Playa Brasalito and Playa Conchal. Jennifer was amazing at helping us after we booked our stay. She answered many email questions promptly and arranged airport transportation. During our stay she was a great help in arranging tours and providing local information. When we arrived, Donny checked us in efficiently with a smile and then later was a wonderful server at the Papaya on-site restaurant. John made some great drinks as well. Donald was outstanding during the busy breakfast rush handling everything with the true Pura Vida spirit. All servers were very accommodating and friendly. The chefs made delicious meals with beautiful presentation. The rooms were basic with air conditioning and hot water and kept very clean by the housekeeping staff. The nearby bridge construction made walking into town or the beach slightly more difficult and dustier, but we were still able to take advantage of the nearby restaurants. The hotel pool was small but nice and relaxing after a day at the beach or on tour. We had resident iguanas especially big Charlie, birds and even Howler monkeys in the trees around the hotel. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at this small hotel with a super staff that make you feel like family.

The staff was welcoming and made you feel like family right away. So accommodating and happy for feedback. Wonderful location and just a cab ride away from places to check out. The beach is walking distance and the restaurants hours are great. A friendly wonderful area altogether. Thank you so much for everything

Arrived around 11 o'clock… A family of four was talking to the security guard apparently they had just booked a room yet there were no more rooms available. I was told there were no more rooms available as well. I politely asked if I could have the phone number of the manager. A few minutes later a woman, apparently the owner, came out in a bathrobe. I was very polite and I asked if there had been a walk in booking. She said yes. I explained when I was booking her hotel there were actually two separate room types available to book, yet at the hotel everything was occupied. I said the only way two separate groups could have bookings from two separate online platforms in a hotel that's completely occupied is if someone on her end had not communicated with the online services that there were no more rooms available. She told me she's been doing this for 15 years and that this happens sometimes. I'm a world traveler with 200 bookings and I've never has this experience. I took her name and her number for my records. I politely told her that my boyfriend I would be fine, that we would have no problem finding other lodging but if she could please help the family of four from Germany to find accommodations that would be wonderful. She assured me I would get my refund as I had paid in advance, two days later, my credit card statement shows no refund received. Another example of sloppy administration on her end. Now I get to waste 30 minutes with the hassle. DO NOT PAY IN ADVANCE HERE!
