Such a lovely spot! Easy to get to Byward market, the Parliament buildings, the National Arts Centre - all in just a few minutes of walking. The only thing I would note is that this hotel no longer has a pool. They have a lovely gym instead, but that was disappointing for my kids. If you look at older guest reviews, you may see a pool but there isn’t one. Nonetheless, this place deserved a top review, as overall it is fantastic and the staff are delightful.

Great hotel. The staff was lovely and the place was perfect for us. There was a lot of different activities for children in the area.

Flooring material was worn and creaked when walking on it. Hard not to wake someone up in the night, when travelling with family. Otherwise a very nice hotel.

The walls are very thin and we did not sleep because we could hear people walking through the halls, and teenagers/kids running up and down the halls. The air quality in the room is very stuffy.

This hotel is stunning! We are so thrilled we stayed here. They automatically upgraded us from a deluxe room to a junior suite when we checked in. Check in was a bit slow but staff were very friendly and informative. Easy to get to the room, ours was on the 4th floor. It was large, clean and modern. The bathroom was spotless and spacious. Loved the bedroom, huge bed and comfy, pillows a bit too soft but otherwise great. 2 tv's in the room that you can hook up to and cast Netflix on ect. Living space with couch, desk, bistro table and coffee ect. Only issue is no parking at the hotel, so we paid the valet parking price of $42.00 per day with unlimited in and out privileges. Totally worth it. 7 min walk from hotel to Parliament Hill so very convenient and well situated. Sadly many homeless/drunk/high people around because it is in the downtown area so sometimes felt unsafe. We just used caution when walking around and it was fine. We live in the city of Toronto so we are use to it. Loved our stay so much that we will return in the summer for 5 nights to explore more. There are many museums, restaurants and breweries we visited and many more still to come back to. The old market district was nice too. Overall, a great stay!

They offer an upgrade to a junior suite, the catch is a view to the wall of the next building, so no natural light at all and a loading dock closed by so no need to set an alarm to wake up. Nice lobby and resto. The pool is now a play ground. Can’t recommend it to friends and family.

I don’t know what happened after the renovations and new ownership but my wife and I stayed here in 2018 before all of the ownership changes and their recent renovation and we were very disappointed when we arrived earlier this week. Room smaller then we remember, more corporate feel than anything. Valets opened the door a few times for us. We had to open the doors more for ourselves. Valets wear a t shirt. Thought they could have been in a proper uniform. Not family friendly. Everything in the room was tight, bed was too close to the entertainment unit and fridge. Walking around the room was a challenge because everything in the room was sooooo close to each other. Bathroom was much smaller then we remember. We left a day early because it just did not feel the same. It’s sad a hotel we loved has become terrible. More than likely never staying here again when we take trips to Ottawa. For a 4 star hotel, it really felt like a 2 star to us. Hope they do better in the future.

I stayed here with my 6 year old daughter. My daughter really wanted a hotel with a pool so this was a big draw. The lobby is stylish and I like that the hotel is small with a boutique feel. The rooms were nice and simple but I wish we had a tub as I do like a bath on vacation. The room was relatively quiet, with comfortable bedding but no view just a very close office building. The pool was a bit too cold and the water cloudy. But the hot tub saved the day. We also had breakfast in the hotel restaurant and my daughter loved her waffles while my French toast was ok. However the best part has to be the hotel staff. Everyone is friendly and helpful. The front desk staff, Noella, Christian and Shirley are wonderful. They made the stay great. They have great recommendations and treat you like a close friend. My daughter really loved them. They even took care of her stuffed animal for the day while we explored the city. When we returned they had taken her stuffy on a hotel adventure with pictures for us to keep. What an amazing staff. Thank you Metcalfe family.

Stayed for two inights over the Labour weekend. Greeted by friendly staff, had no problems parking (note we arrived 2hours before check in) were able to park car and start touring city. When came back to check in, friendly staff checked us in, we had a fantastic room. The entire stay was amazing, the distances to several different attractions and restaurants were within walking distance and the cleanliness of the hotel and comfortability was just amazing. We are a couple with double income and no kids and usually stay at reasonably high standard hotels as we are quite picky, number one key for us is the location from attractions and the comfortability of the bedrooms (not dusty and mostly eco friendly) This hotel definitely met all our standards and we'd definitely stay here again.
