Holiday Inn Express & Suites Oshawa Downtown - Toronto Area, an IHG Hotel

Check in was fine, but when we got back to hotel around 10:30pm there were about 50-60 young kids running around right in front of the doors and parking lot, with the parents camped out on lawn chairs blocking half the parking lot. Looked almost like a tailgate. My wife and I didn't even bother to stay. Wish I could just get my money back, honestly.

I was surprised about the fact that I HAD to book 2 nights when we really only wanted to book one as we go down to visit family for the day before and after. My daughter had to miss school because we only had the option to book 2 nights. Always great experience with staff and breakfast. The pull out couch was broken in spots that made it very uncomfortable to sit on and not safe. Not the staffs fault but there was a team of some sort there and they were very noisy late at night keeping everyone awake in our room.

I was shocked when i arrived and during my stay after seeing so many good reviews. 1 - The staff was all very nice and friendly but were quick to let me know how bad the area is and it park in the basement. Mainly because of all the drug use and homelessness in close proximity. 2 - The breakfast is inedible. I've been to many hotels and this was by far the worst breakfast i've ever attempted to eat. 3 - I was told by staff it's a regular spot for sports teams. So if you like kids running up and down the hallways making noise at all hours and throwing pizzas down hallways - this is your place! I was also stunned when someone was allegedly on meth and locked themselves in the gym. There was a very large police and fireman presence on site, which is never fun to see.

Had a great stay with my family

The facility and newness of it was great! Lovely rooms, common areas etc. Pool maintenance- very questionable. I think my child became physically sick due to pool water: brown tinge; scummy look to top layer, one skimmer was not working.

This is a great location. It’s clean, the staff were friendly and helpful. It was close to all the places we visited (shopping and kids play places) The breakfast exceeded my expectations and the pool was clean and a good size.

We were very impressed with this hotel, a nice facility, close to several local restaurants with great food. Despite the area, the hotel was clean and friendly and had all the amenities we needed, and a great breakfast. The kids loved the snack room and the pool. Staff were very helpful and took care of any requests we had.

I liked the fact we could take our two dogs. However, bit of a pain having to use the elevator, and not being able to access the outside from our room. Also didn’t like that we were in a handicap room, the shower was awful and not having a tub was a disappointment. Location is nice as a beautiful park very close by, the hotel does not have a designated area to take the dogs to relieve themselves. Hotel was very noisy when we stayed, as there was many young kids (baseball tournament), kids running up the halls, couldn’t access the gym as many kids playing around on the equipment. (Not the hotels fault, this falls on the parents).
