Lane's Privateer Inn

Property original areabuilt in 1750. A lot of history there .Many members of my family have spent time and enjoyed family meals and get togethers here over the years. It has new ownersand it is wonderful to see how they are growing and doing.so much more than when we were there a year ago. We will definitely be back . The reataurant was great The only problem is no elevstor but they are so obliging and helpful and helped us. Thank you.

We stayed here, with 2 kids, out of necessity; we were looking for something in Lunenburg area on short notice, and this was the only property with availability. It was better than sleeping in the van, but not by much. The building is a beautiful old property, and the staff were friendly. The restaurant/pub closed at 8pm on Saturday, which was really disappointing. The towels and bed linens were very clean, but otherwise, the room was disappointing: very dusty under the beds, stained upholstery on furniture, mattresses were lumpy, shower did not drain, toilet *barely* flushed, sink screeched when water was turned on, and our cell phones & iPad wouldn't connect to wifi because the network security was too weak. (We finally got a laptop to connect to a different network down in the lobby.) Our room faced the main road, so it was noisy, but that was not unexpected. Overall, I wouldn't recommend staying here unless it was out of necessity.
