Lakeview Gimli Resort & Conference

This room cost $230 Canadian. Room decor extremely dated..70s? The air conditioner was one still controlled by flipping tab on conditioner. It was so noisy could not have on while sleeping...temperature that over night low 20s. It made the bed vibrate. No USB ports in room. Ice machine out of order . Cups for coffee and glasses were PLASTIC.(For price would expect glass). The bath towel was small and so threadbare almost see through. Shampoo/Conditioner/Body Wash were on wall of shower. I was already in shower/wet....Shampoo and Body Wash bottles EMPTY! Had to exit shower and retrieve my own. NO breakfast included in this price. Bridal party including parents and other family had planned breakfast morning after wedding. Not only was breakfast not included...breakfast was not offered PERIOD. There was no dining area available! Way overpriced for such dated and substandard accommodation and amenities.

Such an amazing stay at Lakeview. We checked in late & Trevor was kind enough to let us stay a little longer at check out. Excellently maintained Pool area and Seagulls [dining] is very kid friendly and priced reasonably too!!!! Definitely coming back to make many more memories.

Well, not to complain, but I ordered baby back ribs from the restaurant inside of the hotel. They were not too likings. Happy to save the night manager exchange that meal for two breakfast meals which balanced out the cost not a big issue Service was great.

The kids had a blast in the pool area.

We’ve been staying at the Lakeview Resort since I was a child and I have such fond memories of the whole town. Everything around the hotel is fabulous, but unfortunately, the hotel rooms need some TLC and updating. We rented a double room (two queens) and there wasn’t a microwave, furniture was scraped up and old, beds quite firm, pillows super hard and lumpy, bathroom was falling apart - cracked and raised floor tiles, bubbling sink, etc. Time for a facelift as it could be a real gem. We didn’t spend too much time in our room so it didn’t bother us as much, but for the price you pay, it should be kept up.

The rooms are very dated and the furniture was all chipped giving it a shabby appearance. The neighbours in the next room were very noisy as they had little kids. The hostess in the restaurant on Sunday was a young girl who was not pleasant at all and should not be working with the public.

Brought my daughters and there families the kids and adults had a great time thanks to your friendly staff.

We’ve been staying here for years and I always expect that they’ll have caught up to this century when I go, but everything is so dated and just like it was when I was a kid. DVD rentals should be retired and streaming should be available; I bring my laptop and an HDMI cable so I can run it to the TV for Netflix and whatever else. Staff are all very lovely but seem easily overwhelmed and perhaps not yet adjusted to increased business since Covid “ended”; I have a stay booked here in the summer and I’m worried about their ability to manage during high season. Would like to see a refresh and modernization here but overall it’s a reliable place to stay.

The staff at the hotel and restaurant were lovely! We have two little kiddos and they were so accommodating to our needs!! Highly recommend!

Great staff, enjoyed the outdoor and indoor pool (hot tub) Enjoyed spending the evening at the beach and watching the sunrise with our coffee in the morning. Relaxing family holiday.
