The hotel did not fail to please. Friendly staff, clean hotel in the lobby, hallways and rooms. I would suggest that the hotel (not just the Fairmont but most hotels who supply cribs) consider going to a pack and play in the rooms instead of the metal cribs. It is difficult to put the baby in the crib as it is not adjustable in height.

We visit family in Winnipeg regularly, staying at another nearby hotel. Because this trip included business we thought we'd upgrade to a 'business hotel', but the Fairmont was not an upgrade and, frankly, not suitable for business. Three issues: First, our room wasn't serviced until we asked at 6pm. When it wasn't serviced the second night we asked again but were told because of COVID rooms were only serviced every three nights. That may have been a fair policy but not, at least from our perspective, in May '22. And if it was policy it should have been made clear at the time of both booking and checkin, which it wasn't. 2nd issue: Couldn't get a cup of coffee in the hotel before 7:20am on a Saturday (when I finally left the building). 3rd issue: Had to schlep bags up five flights of stairs to the parkade because the elevator doesn't open until 6am. Neither of these are business traveller-friendly policies. The hotel itself is 'dated', 'tired' and not what we've come to expect from a Fairmont. Tiny bathrooms, 3-4 minutes to get hot water to the 15th floor. Room service carts left in hallways for 12 hours. And, of course, no cleaning service in the rooms. There are lots of better alternatives in Winnipeg. Our next stay will be at one of the others.

I am a lawyer who was in Winnipeg for business. I was kidnapped, beaten, and robbed in downtown Winnipeg. I was taken to the hospital by ambulance which I have no recollection of. Once I returned to the hotel after the hospital, my wife called the front desk to ask them to bring me water and Tylenol. They said they didn’t have any Tylenol and told her to use Skip the Dishes from a convenience store. She asked if there was a vending machine they could get some out of and had to raise her voice before the clerk would agree to go look. After all of this, they still did not bring me Tylenol. Someone came to my room but it was to tell me to vacate within 30 mins, not offer any help. My mother then called the hotel and gave them an earful. Tylenol was eventually brought up, which they charged me for. I will NEVER stay at this hotel again. This is the worst customer service experience I have ever had. These employees should all be fired.
