Coast Bastion Hotel

The room was nice and clean with an amazing view of the Harbor. It was quiet except the doors don’t seal well and the baby crying in the next room was loud and easily heard. Besides the poor sound proofing between rooms, the stay was nice.

We had an amazing time at this beautiful hotel. We enjoyed our dinner at the restaurant in house and had a stunning view of the waterfront from our 11th floor room. We were a family of four and fit easily in the King bed plus pull out room. We hope to come back!

it was wonderful time to stay at coast hotel. We have a pet and it was hard to find a pet friendly hotel. People here are so nice to my kids and my dog. perfect location.

My biggest two issues with the property were related to parking and the water shut off. I booked this hotel awhile in advance and nothing came up for maintainence. However after check in Thursday, on Friday or Saturday the hotel put up notices that the water would be off from 11 am to 5 pm on Sunday. Providing lodging with no water is a huge issue for me especially as if it was city maintainence they should have known in advance and could have advised any guests for this weekend to have us feel better provided on booking. My second issue was the parkade. I was exiting one morning with my children and a man, fellow patron as he was parked in the reserved spaces, stood in front of my car and told me I couldn't exit the parkade at the exit I was heading towards. He walked toward my vehicle and insisted that "even if it's my favourite I needed to go a different way" which was very concerning. When I received my text for service assessment I passed these comments along and got a non response essentially taking no ownership for either situation. If I am paying an additional $9 a day to park at a hotel why should I ever feel unsafe in the paid provided parkade? Very disappointed in the lack of effort in resolving either of this situations.

It's quite unsafe to venture out after dinner. The hotel was also VERY loud. Drunk kids all weekend.

The staff and this hotel are great - super location, great views, very friendly and kind staff. Sadly, Nanaimo has a major downtown homeless/drug addict/crime problem. No fault of the hotel whatsoever, and they do what they can to limit problems for guests, but.... my daughter and I were treated to 4 people shooting up something, and two brawling when we came out of the parking garage, at 3.00pm in the afternoon (on Wharf St.). Not what you want to see, and not comfortable to walk around the area, at least with kids.

Hotel room and bathroom is clean and tidy. Staff are friendly, efficient and helpful. Our family member left personal stuff after check-out and hotel staff kept for us. Hotel location is superb, just few mins walk to the coast. Also a pet friendy hotel. Highly recommend！
