St. Eugene Golf Resort & Casino

St Eugene is a wonderful place to stay, very friendly staff & the hotel is truly amazing. I recommend this hotel & resort to all my friends & family. For me, its my home away from home. 5 stars all around ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Room clean and comfortable. Not fancy but nice. The outdoor pool was awesome thought the kids. Great ambiance at night. Steam room good as well. Grounds are very nice and really do look upper class. The history of the property as residential school was interesting and amazing to see and understand the transformation. Food was good. We would certainly go back

Beautiful grounds, beautiful golf course. Rooms were basic and nobody mentioned that they would not be making up our room during our 3 night stay. Had I known, I wouldn't have booked it. Hotels are a splurge for us, so when we do stay somewhere, I expect to have my room cleaned and made up daily. Most staff were lovely, especially at the 19th Hole. Bartender in the casino was rude. He accused my husband of "trying to get more than one drink at a time" when he went up to get a drink for both of us. He literally made me stand up from across the casino and wave to him to prove that my husband wasn't ordering 2 drinks just for himself (gasp!). The pool was decent, my kids loved it. Golfing was the highlight of our stay. Overall, would give it 4 stars and I would stay here again.

2 adults and 3 children traveling. A very sad start to our holiday of traveling around Canada for 4 weeks. We woke up early to sad news of wild fires that had closed the roads to where we were heading from to get to the hotel. The hotel we were staying in had advised strongly not to travel to the area due to OUT OF CONTROL WILD FIRES, the TV news were showing people been evacuated and devastating film footing of homes lost. I contacted the hotel whilst my husband was trying to work out where we go instead, and they weren’t interested. I could cancel but wouldn’t get a refund, no matter which way I tried to resolve the solution they weren’t interested, I even looked at moving our night stay to our 4th week when heading back on ourselves via the last hotel and airport. We didn't book a cheaper rate none cancellation room but if we had I would have thought they would be understanding. All they said was they are open and not been evacuated YET so no cancellation/no refund even though we physically couldn’t get to them. Lots of emails sent via Expedia who were trying their hardest to help and support. I pleaded one last time via the phone an hour before we should of checked in a spoke with a very understanding member of the team, they were lovely and understanding and agreed it wasn’t safe and would cancel our room with a full refund, a few days later my cancelled room was charged to my credit card.

Thought the scenery of the hotel was really pretty. Found very limited options for dining especially with kids. Had kids running up and down the hallways then adults visiting in the hallways.

A very beautiful and elegant property! Our family of 5 decided to stay overnight due to unsafe travel conditions on our route home. We were so happy to stay here because there was enough space for us to sleep and explore. Their restaurant onsite was extraordinary - and staff were so accommodating and welcoming to our young children. The only downfalls were renovations to their pool and hot tub were taking place, and complementary breakfast options were not included in the stay. Otherwise, it was a great experience!

This was a beautiful property. It was tastefully decorated and it honoured the sweet kiddos that were taken from their families in a gentle, kind and loving way. I am taken aback at the respect this place showed to a time that should show no respect. Just shows the level of kindness that went into taking control back over a negative building and time. We will stay again. The housekeeping were great! Even left us a nice note and all of the little touches were just great.

St Eugene Resort is a wonderful testament to the human spirit. The property, run by the nations who wee taken from their families and robbed of their language, culture and dignity have turned a place of abuse and loss into a place of teacing and healing. The rooms were clean an well-priced but the Grill needs to improve it's product. The heating system face was really noisy, making sleep at night difficult. The Interpretive Centre and Museum are wonderful, staffed by Indigenous people who are well informed. The 30 min documentary is hard to watch but necessary learning.

Very nice hotel away from the city. Friendly staff, decent food, comfortable rooms. The only issue we had was we asked for a crib for our 1 year old and figured it wouldn't cost much- it was $20 per night! We stayed multiple nights so at that rate I could have brought my own play pen or bought a new one at Walmart. The price was pretty high considering a baby cannot sleep in a regular bed.

St Eugene is a former residential school, which was used for the forced placement of First Nations children into school. Certainly there has been a reconciliation with at least the local Tribe, and the building was and is stunning. The local Tribe is in fact a partner in the adjoining casino, and a modest interpretive center is located in the basement of the main building. The main building - the former school - is why we chose this property because we wanted to learn more about the history by having an experiential component. Our family of four booked a deluxe room in the main building using Expedia. Upon arrival, we were advised that a family of four could NOT be accommodated in the main, historic building. We were instead offered a standard room in the new wing with two queen beds and everything you'd expect in pretty much any hotel today. We were not offered any kind of compensation for the downgrade, so we asked for something, anything. Surprisingly, instead we were told that we should have noticed that the booking was offered with a King bed and we should have known that it would not accommodate four people. However, we mentioned that we cannot make a booking without declaring the number of adults and children. The property is clean and well kept. Our only significant complaint is paying for a deluxe room and receiving a standard room. You'd think they'd at least offer a breakfast voucher!
