Pocaterra Inn and Waterslide

"The hotel room was decent, and the free breakfast was good enough. However, the air conditioning was very noisy and needs to be updated. The location was convenient, close to everything you need. My kids enjoyed the water slides."

I would not recommend staying here. Especially not if you're adults, but it could be an option specifically if you have kids. I did not have a good experience staying here. The gym/"fitness centre" looks absolutely nothing like the photos. They've thrown out most of the equipment. So now there are no resistance machines at all or any weights. Just treadmills, a cross trainer, and a mat. The sauna wasn't working when I wanted to use it. The hot tub was always swarmed with kids running around it, by the side of the pool. (to the point where I didn't even want to use it, as it would not have been a relaxing/enjoyable experience.) The management/some of the staff were honestly terrible. One of them just didn't care about me being inconvenienced or about their hotel providing a good or accurate/fair service. Their system and their communication between each other was really bad/not-existent. And one staff member said something that was just not correct (and it also wasn't passed on.) Twice housekeeping knocked on my door when I'd put on a Do not Disturb sign at night (Although possible someone had knocked it off). My room view had a little balcony, but it overlooked a petrol garage and two roads, that were noisy. So it was not really the peaceful mountain view that I was hoping for, and paid a lot for. Also occasionally the hotel parking was full. Also the hotel generally just has a somewhat old feel, like in the interior, which could probably do with being updated.

It was great, great location just 20 mins from banff town. Boston pizza, subway , McDonalds, Tim Hortons were close by too. They have a jacuzzi , water slide in a pool and kids really enjoyed it.

Pool was excellent for kids and warm.

Easy to get to and close enough to other amenities to walk to, just did not like the hefty pet fee! Good for the kids, brecky was great! We will be back!

We loved the waterslide, the complimentary breakfast, room was clean and loved the freshly baked cookies upon check in! We would definitely stay and and recommend to all our friends and family!

I’m usually not one to write reviews, but I chose this hotel based on the great reviews and was disappointed. We didn’t get a room upgrade and were placed close to the front lobby. The luggage carts rolling by at all hours would wake us up. The breakfast was cold. We ate at 7:15am too so it’s not like we were last through. The slide in the pool area was awesome and the kids loved it.

Property was in a convenient location in Canmore. This was ample free parking on site. Staff were friendly and courteous. They were knowledgeable about the area and could provide recommendations of places to eat, shop, etc. The rooms were nicely space. Had everything that we needed. The AC was a bit on the louder side, but otherwise worked well. It was nice that lemon water and cookies were complementary and offered during midday. Also a bonus that a continental breakfast was available. We didn't get a chance to try out the water slide / pool as we had a full inventory of things to do, but it looked like it was well kept, and a lot of other families enjoyed it. On site coin laundry was helpful for cleaning our clothes mid trip. I would say the gym was a little lacking (i.e. no free weights, but with all the hiking we did, I didn't get a chance to really use it). Would stay here again.

It's a gem of a hotel for families with small kids. My kids described the pool area as superb! Amazing staff and beautiful hotel. The breakfast was very good though tables fill up fast!
