The rooms are not big enough for a family of four and the air conditioning in the rooms were terrible. The Malcolm Hotel is NOT a 5 star hotel, more like a 3 star. The only thing good was the underground parking! For the cost of the rooms per night they should provide you with breakfast since there is a restaurant on the property!

My goodness. I think this hotel is one of my Top 5 favorite rooms in the world! We were kindly upgraded to a mountain view room by Natalie upon check in who was super kind and gracious. Let me just say, pay for the mountain view. You will not regret it and it’s worth every penny! We stayed in room 420 which was the highest floor and couldn’t have been better. The balcony was wonderful and overlooked the heated pool which my family got to enjoy without anyone else around. It was like our private pool and view of the 3 Sisters! We also had the softest robe and slippers. We took the slippers to use on the rest of our trip in Canada which certainly came in handy. If you are in Canmore, there isn’t a better hotel to stay at and if you aren’t in Canmore, it’s worth visiting just to stay at this beautiful, dreamy property.

We loved the pool and the amazing view that comes with it. It was also our baby's first pool experience and he loved it. We had most of our meals at the Stirling Grill and all of them were spectacular. Customer service is top-notch from the front desk, restaurant, and housekeeping and any requests we had was immediately attended to. The only thing we could comment on was the ventilation in our room. The weather was ranging between 15 to 20 °C when we stayed so it got warm when no windows were opened and no matter how many times we adjusted the temperature inside the room to make it cooler and turn up the AC, it went back to 24°C which made it so hot and uncomfortable it also felt drier inside. We had to open the sliding door that night just to get in some cold air so we could sleep.

Amazing hotel. But not quiet. There are a lot of children. Would be great if there was adult only sections that don’t have kids screaming and running around. Restaurant in the hotel was mediocre and over priced. Service has been great overall!

Loved this hotel -- the location was excellent. A little secluded off the busy part of downtown Canmore but close enough to walk there. It was so scenic at the hotel, great views of the mountains and creeks surrounding the hotel. The pool was amazing for our kids -- they went swimming everyday while parents got to relax in hot tub with drinks. This is probably the best hotel we've ever stayed at!

Staff gave wrong room without a balcony. Dirty room; pink mold in sink, thick dust on all ledges. Neglected pool area; garbage left on tables, napkins floating in pool, used towels littering chairs. Worn out furniture in game area. Broken handles on foosball table. Ashtrays on balconies invite guests to smoke even though they claim to be a non-smoking hotel. My children were exposed to a plume of marijuana smoke for 3 nights. No microwave in room. Small rooms. Manager was kind, room service were polite, breakfast was mediocre. Chowder was delicious. Aesthetically pleasing hotel off the main drag.

This has been the best place my family has ever been to during our 7 day road trip. Best of all is the level of service at the front desk at at time when we did not expect good service for a first time traveller in Canmore. We checked in almost midnight at short notice . Elise accommodated us and with the level of service afforded to loyal patrons. My family and I are immensely grateful for her assistance. Thank you very much BTW, the place is pristine and clean and first class all the way. Thank you very much to The Malcolm. It was such a memorable experience staying with you and would gladly do so again next time we do another road trip.

We liked that it was not in the downtown area, yet a really short walk. Loved the scenery, trees, a path to take a stroll, even a family of deer right outside the hotel.

The Malcolm is a gorgeous property in the heart of Canmore. Staff were amazing. Pool and hot tubs are clean and the games area on the 2nd floor was a great place to round out a beautiful day in the mountains with my kids.

Far too busy for the staff to keep up with cleaning. What used to be a higher end 3 star has dropped in the ratings in my opinion. It’s more like a family friendly hotel. The hottub and pool were full of noisy kids. Definitely not a relaxing adult place.
