My family of four really enjoyed our stay at Northwinds. We stayed there for seven nights. The highlights of the hotel: close location to downtown and highway, comfortable bed and pillows, clean facility, friendly front office staff, and self check in and out. The only negative was the poor water pressure in the shower but not a deal breaker for us. Fresh towels and coffee pods were readily available. The mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker allowed us to eat breakfast in the room and save money. Parking was close and no matter how packed it looked, we always found a spot. Other reviews said it was noisy but we didn’t experience that at all. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

Hotel is way nicer inside than it looks from the outside. We got the family room with the queen bunk beds it was very nice and spacious for our family. The bedding was soft and nice pillows. Lots of space in the room. Free parking was a plus. No breakfast included and no pool were downfalls. Not that close to downtown but there were restaurants within walking distance.

Really good value for money when it came to my room and probably could have charged more, even in off season. My rooms seemed really new. I had a fireplace and patio door. I even had a microwave. Good comfortable bed and USB source and plugs right by the bed. Bathroom even had storage under the sink. I would say a kettle might be nice, I wanted a tea at night. Also a door draft would be nice, a little bit of a gap which brought in noise from the hallway. The only disappointing thing was other guests on my second night. The room right next to me were loud, kids making noise and sounded like they were moving furniture. Not the hotels fault just inconsiderate guests.

This is an absolutely lovely hotel. I was super impressed with how clean and eco friendly it was. Staff were super kind as well. We brought our dog and were unsure of how it would go, but it was awesome, and having the patio was great to take her out to pee. My only feedback is that the area outside the patios could use a garbage can for dog poop, but I did manage to survive the walk to the outdoor garbage at the front of the building. It would merely be a nice convenience. We will absolutely make this our #1 choice for little weekend getaways with the kids and the dog. Location is perfect, we think we might make this a fun summer event after a hike (to make sure we show up with tired dogs and tired kids!)

The room was updated and the bed was comfortable. I had asked for a non-pet friendly room that was in a quiet area, and had booked the 1 king bed suite. Turns out, the room was located right beside the stairs. The building is old, and walls paper thin. I could hear people coming up and down the stairs all evening. I went to the front to see if I could be moved, and they told me that was the only King room in the building. Regardless, people seemed to respect the after 10pm quiet hours, and I slept well in the comfy bed. But be aware if you are a light sleeper or have little ones that nap, this may not be the place for you. There was a large balcony, and the views were amazing. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. I think the price was great and felt the room was updated and clean.

VERY thin walls. You can hear every word your neigbours say, LOUD and clear. Even at 3am. Rooms on ground floor don't feel safe. Our window could be easily opened from the outside ( we tried ), and it didn't even have a screen. Fireplace was nice but on a timer that made a clicking sound the whole time it ran. Room was decent, and clean. Guest service was mediocre. Would not recommend to light sleepers or folks with little ones.

When we checked into our room we could smell cigarette smoke. We complained to the front desk. They came and to the room and inspected the odour and told us it was exhaust fumes from the parking lot, it wasn’t. The front desk manager then told us he would change us to a larger family room. Which he didn’t do. Same level room different location. The new room did not have the cigarette smell. However around the edge of the room you could tell they had not vacuumed. At 4:45 am I was awakened as the noise that had crept in overnight continued to get louder as, what sounded like the front desk staff, talked to each other. The bottom of the door to the room had about a half inch clearance to the floor. This allowed noise to flow in all night and morning. In the morning when I showered the shower head sprayed water out the side onto the bathroom floor. This resulted in poor water pressure. I attempted to stop the leak by screwing on the shower head. This was not successful as the water kept shooting out the connection. I believe this was the worst hotel experience I have had. I would steer clear.

Really enjoyed my stay at Northwinds by Basecamp. Had an issue during check in when the key code for the room wasn't working and the front desk person was patient and diligent at resolving the issue. Had booked an adjoining queen room and double queen and the set up was perfect for family! Room itself was clean and a good size, good condition. We wanted to make sure we stayed at a place with a good view of the mountains so I loved having the sliding door and being able to step out to see the mountains in the distance. Pleasant stay!
