Melbourne CBD Central Apartment Hotel

At first sight this property seemed great. The apartment was simple and functional. The kitchen space was well set up and user friendly. Then i we t to give my toddler a bath and the bath was filthy. No way I'd fill that bath and sit my toddler in it. A shower in dads arms was all I could face. I have photos and will send them so the property can take action on this.

1. Terrible check in experience, travelling from NZ we were checking in after hours. I tried calling multiple times to ask the process for late night checkin as there was a lock box. The contact number did not work from NZ. Ended up calling Expedia to help again multiple times, they reassured me we would receive a SMS with details. We arrived at property it was all locked up with no SMS. Our NZ mobiles still did not work. We managed to tailgate into the reception and found a desk phone to call the 24 hour number. Was so stressful after travelling so far with the family. 2. Property is dated and definitely needs an upgrade , lots of construction going on. 3. On-site Staff were excellent, friendly and helpful. 4. Location was good, trams right outside. Walking distance to lots of places to shop and eat.

Great location with a tram stop right outside the door. It can't be beaten...BUT...the reception failed to tell us that the floor where our room was located would not have electricity from 7 am the next day! Unforgiveable...when I went downstairs to talk to someone to find out what was going on, this is when I discovered a copied A4 notice from the electricity company that mentioned a planned outage...gee, why didn't reception tell us on check-in!? Anyway, I digress, I arrived at the conveniently closed reception, baring the closed office that had lights on. Was the Manager hiding??? I think so. Not having electricity was the cherry on top, because the room was dirty, TV remote batteries were dead, the aircon was not working and the shower barely had any warm water that trickled out of the shower head. We promptly checked out and will NEVER EVER stay at or recommend this property to family and friends. In fact, I will take great pleasure in telling anyone who will care to listen that this is the worst apartment hotel we've ever had the displeasure of staying in.

The property is very dated and in much need of refurbishment. We arrived late and the late check in system was great but the front door handle was broken along with the bathroom door handle, however the staff were great and it was fixed the next day. The apartment was old and not very clean, the spa bath was hard to use and no one in my family has mobility issues. Great location but I would not stay here again.
