Sofitel Brisbane Central

The room we stayed in was run down, there was mouldy smell, bathroom was not cleaned properly even though we had wait nearly an hour to get the room. Pillows had stains on them. No ideal with a 7 month old baby. Well below expectations

Rooms a little dated, but still nice. Comfy bed, complimentary water, nice facilities & convenient bedding above the Central Train Station. Pool & Spa area is nice, but only gets the morning sun, so no good for sun baking, but great area for kids being sun smart. Great spot, within walking distance to Southbank & other areas…

The Sofitel definitely has the advantage of location, location, location - As it is situated directly above central station in the heart of the city. However, this venue is not only about it’s location - the staff that I met and the venues on site facilitates, were beyond par. The junior suite is a great choice.

Check in was breezy. The staff greeted us warmly and offered my 3 year old a small chocolate on arrival and a spa voucher for myself. Our room was located on the second highest storey, and had a lovely view of the memorial ANZAC square gardens. The room itself was very clean, well laid out, and spacious, with all the amenities needed for a small family night away. We loved the use of the pool and spa and the fact that we didn’t need to use our bath towels to dry off, as some hotels tend to not offer towels at the pool and this one did, which was great not having to take damp towels back up to our room. The hotel is well located in the desirable area of Brisbane, with everything within walking distance. We walked to Suncorp Stadium to catch a NRL game and caught the train back, being pleasantly surprised that the train stopped only a minutes walk from the hotel, so we could get our son to bed easily and relax. The TV has paid up-to-date movies available to rent, which was also good for our son. Breakfast was great. There was a large variety of food, including freshly cooked eggs, curries, sausages, mushrooms, etc. There were various fruits, baked goods, cereals, and best of all, real barista coffee (not instant). Check out was a very reasonable 11am with options for later check out. Checkout itself was quick, with an express checkout box to put our room cards into. All in all, a very comfortable stay and would definitely come back.
