Overall a great stay. It’s a fantastic location to both the city and Howard Smith Warfs and only a short walk to Fortitude Valley. Staff were great and super helpful with both the concierge team and the reception. Common areas and rooms very clean and nicely appointed. We had a twin double with what were called “2 double beds” we booked the room as we were with our young children and I would really call the beds king singles so it was a bit cramped at night. The mattresses were also very worn with big dents from age and super squishy and quite uncomfortable. The room also did not have a mini bar with any drinks and when tried to access a drinks menu on the tv to order room service it didn’t work, even after calling reception for help. The thing that really let the stay down was when we ordered room service food. We placed an order for a main meal with a side and dessert and after about an hour wait without a meal I called down to see what was up and they didn’t seem to have the order. The nice chap said he would have the meal rushed through but it still took an extra 30 mins and the side to the meal was forgotten…. I gave up at this point to call and complain. However the river view room had a fantastic view. And the staff really are very nice.

We had come 8 hours to a family funeral. Our air b n b at the last minute cancelled. We drove into the city at 10.30 pm at night to arrive to a very luxurious and expensive hotel . We couldn’t It even park our car onsite as it was all booked out!! $400 a night and you can’t get onsite parking. My poor husband had to park a half a kilometre away after being drained and exhausted . The bed was very uncomfortable with a hard, dared mattresses and the pillows were very hard, high pillows designed for back sleepers.. The lights were tiny little torch like lights and the side bed lamps had globes but did not work. Had to line up for ages to get a coffee in the morning . Very disappointed Marriott . Will not ever stay again at your overpriced luxurious hotel.

Dealt with 3 different staff members while staying there, 2 were lovely the other was quite abrupt: Was not advised prior to check in that they would debit an extra $100 per night for any incidentals. So for a family planning on a budget be mindful of this as they debit it straight away and then advise you have to wait up to 5 business days for it to be refunded. Most hotels just take a credit card as a hold without actually debiting. Parking was an extra $49 a night as well. The rooms smelt musky, pillows were horrendous. For the cost of $977 for 2 nights stay in a standard room there is better alternatives

Beautiful hotel and lovely staff! We booked a room for my family and because we needed a microwave to heat up my daughter’s milk, they organised one to be brought up to the room straight away! Buffet breakfast was delicious and the shower pressure was amazing! Overall, a great stay and we will be back again!
