I got there around noon and asked if I could have an early check in, there had only been a few cars parked around there for the days before because I was staying at another hotel and driving over by the Virginian to the RV park to visit so I knew they weren’t busy. The staff was rude and told me no and my room wasn’t ready and check in was at 4 pm. I went back at 3:40pm and they said no check in is at 4 pm. I wouldn’t have stayed the night if I hadn’t already paid for it online. I stayed at the Rusty Parrott for big part of my stay and they let me check in 5hrs early because they weren’t that busy. I’ve never been at a hotel that doesn’t try to accommodate an early arrival if they aren’t busy. I would not suggest the Virginian for anyone that’s used to the nicer things. I only wanted to be by the RV park there for my last day because my kids were staying there for a couple of days.

Very nice family place. Rustic but well kept. Nice amenities for kids. Good water pressure and hot water. East, close parking. Horribly expensive but everything in Jackson is!

The all-around vibe of the place was great. Retro, yet updated, I enjoyed the vintage decor. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The courtyard area is just what we needed to entertain the kids while the adults sat still for a few. The pool, hot tub, and multiple firepits made for a relaxing end to the evening. The rooms were clean and the beds were super comfy. My husband wants to know what brand of mattresses are used in the rooms. We highly recommend The Virginian. We are already looking forward to our next stay.

I'm giving this a 3/5 stars. The property itself has that "Clark Griswold Family Vacation" Americana type feel about it. The room was very clean and well appointed, having recently been updated. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The pool looked great but we had our dogs with us and couldn't leave them unattended in our room, so we weren't able to check that out or the fire pits (to no fault of the mgmt, just stating we are unable to review that area other than by sight). The property was undergoing a significant renovation when we were there, so dinner was not an option in their restaurant (even for take-out since we couldn't leave our dogs alone), neither were any of their other on-site shops. Our room faced a 2-story section of the property that was under reno, and there must have been a faulty smoke detector or two because it/they chirped all night long, making sleep difficult. And our air conditioner was really loud (clunky sound, not the typical blowing air loud), so simply closing our windows wasn't an ideal option either. It just didn't seem worth the $400 /night rate (excluding pet fees) given the fact that so much wasn't available due to the reno. All that being said, I would gladly pay that rate once the property is up and running at full capacity, and I think my kids would love staying here.

Wonderful place to stay on our last night of our trip to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. The kids loved the pool and smores. Very relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere and very comfortable rooms. It was definitely much better than we expected.
