Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Whitewater

This place, supposedly military friendly, was recommended as such. I happen to be a 100% Combat Disabled Veteran. And although nobody in this country owes me anything, sometimes business offer incentives for us. It is nice. So 1900 miles and two days later we get to the hotel. 76 dollars a night became 300 dollars a night "due to the July 4th Holiday". Now forgive me but wasn't the War for Independence fought, in part, by the first continental army? So of all the holidays where the military should be favorably looked upon it should be July 4th. Anyway, we are tired and dirty. We pay the money. We shower and head to bed. We find a Cheeto in the bed under the sheet. We don't call down because it's late and we are sure the maid will change the sheets when she cleans the room. We leave to visit family. We get back that night and the room hasn't been touched. We are informed at check-out that due to Covid there isn't room service? Who knows.... So apparently the more you pay the less you get. And to do that to a veteran on July 4th is crazy. So as a 76 dollar a night hotel it was average. Even with the ridiculous breakfast they set out. Gross. But to be fair they should be rated with other 300 dollar a night hotels which is what they charged. They were the WORST hotel I've ever stayed at. 24 years in the military saw me stay at hundreds of hotels. So I do have a frame of reference. I'm asking all veterans to help me boycott this place. Shame on them.

This hotel was awesome. I came with two toddlers and two elderly guests. The staff could not have been more kind and accommodating. The pool and fitness center were both SO clean, and beautiful. Our room was great, too. Sweet staff frequently asked if they could help us with anything. We highly recommend this hotel!
