Stoney Creek Hotel Wausau - Rothschild

The breakfast is lacking. They post the selections on the door and then don't have what is posted (i.e sausage links were not there). Not much selection and the eggs were less than desirable. Room was clean and comfortable, but the kids running in the hall was a problem, even though there were signs on the hallway walls saying No Running.

We are on motorcycles and got stuck at the hotel die to a bad storm at dinner time. The bar served cold beverages and had tombstone pizzas. Winner! I envisioned chips from a vending machine and was so glad for the pizza. Would come in handy if travelling with kids as well!

Allison at the front desk was amazing! Super friendly, always smiling. Beautiful decor and the kids loved the pool area. We will definitely return on our next family get away!

Nice cabin style hotel. Great pool area for kids and adults.

The room was cleanly, the service was outstanding, and the amenities were adequate. Pleasantly accommodated my family and pet, $75 pet fee per night. Right next to Grocery store and paved walking trail. Would book here again if going through Wausau with a pet.

Recent bad storms left us with no power in our home for over 24hrs so with little kids we decided to make the most of a quickly 2h hour stay-cation. Our kids loved the pool, hot tub and bunk beds in our room

We had a really good stay overall. There were a lot of kids there for a sporting event but they didn't seem too noisy for the most part. Good selection for breakfast. Liked that the pool/hot tub was for adults only after 10. Sheets were a bit pilly which was my only complaint.

I reserved this room and upon arrival I was asked how many people were in my room. I said one adult and two children. I was checked in. I then reviewed my receipt and saw I was charged $20 for extra adults. I contacted hotels.com, who I made the reservation through, to ask for a refund of this $20. They contacted the hotel for me and reported that the hotel agreed I only had one adult and 2 kids, but refused to refund the $20 because I "booked it for 4 adults." I can see this on the paperwork for the reservation but I never had four adults in my party. I believe this was a clerical error. I cannot for the life of me imagine running a hotel and knowing there was one adult in the room but still feel good about charging $20 for extra adults I know aren't there. Claiming I confirmed the reservation and saying I am out of luck is just terrible customer service. Also, there was hair in my breakfast potatoes from the gross breakfast. Not happy.

Room was cozy, comfortable bed with a good size mini fridge and microwave. Breakfast options included waffles, eggs & sausage plus pastries and a variety of beverages. The pool area was nice, warm pool, big hot tub, pool table and foosball, plenty to keep the kids entertained. Dining and grocery within walking distance.

Was a great room. Was a bit loud due to many families with kids stay at the hotel but that’s not the hotels fault.
