Nestled in central Whidbey, this property was an excellent location for a rest from Ragnar. It feels like a family run roadside motel with a kitschy Dutch theme. Very quaint. Beds were comfy like your grandmas house, not quiet, but springy and cozy.

This property is cute from the outside, but needs refurbishing inside. There was peeling wall-paper, dingy tub grout, mystery stains on the arm of the couch, random holes drilled into the top of the dresser, and the chairs for the table were very wobbly. An even bigger problem for my family however was that there seemed to be very little staffing. The nice front desk clerk appeared to be running the whole place alone. When we discovered there was no bedding in the room for the pullout couch, nobody answered when I called reception. I went to them in person, and had to wait for 4 families to check in ahead of me, in order to ask. Then I waited in the room almost an additional hour for it to arrive. That was frustrating since my son was going to be napping but there was nowhere for him to lay down. I’m not typically a person who complains, but this experience warranted this review.

This is THE cutest place. The rooms, while not modern, are extremely clean with all the amenities. The only thing our room was missing was an iron and ironing board. The reception staff were super friendly and happy to talk about the history of the motel with pictures to reference. With check out at 11am it is a perfect place to stay if you are like us and come to Oak Harbor for the Blue Fox Drive Inn and dont want to drive the hour home at 2am. I highly recommend staying here and my family and I will continue to just book a room when we come to the drive inn!

Reasonable price for a clean quiet room, comfortable beds, basic amenities. The kid at the front desk was very nice and personable.

Our go-to place on Whidbey Island when visiting family. Very clean, pleasant surroundings, homey atmosphere and friendly staff make this a very nice home away from home! Just on the outskirts of town, close to shopping, and easy access and parking.

Originally assigned room cramped, had children’s toys under the bed & smelled smoky despite being a non-smoking unit, but second assigned room cleaner & more comfortable.

I've been wanting to stay here since I was a little kid. The hotel isn't fancy, but it's clean and comfortable and it's fun to stay in a windmill. There are little cabins out back that I'd like to know more about. We could hear an owl hooting at night, which was nice. And the breakfast had lots of take-away options. Totally decent and comfy beds.
