Staff got us into a family unit which was perfect. (Traveling with my 90 year old father). We were able to work all the amenities. Old but clean. You can tell there is some pressure on finances. Pillows were old/flat, no dishwashing liquid, thermostat in my room was not in good repair (not usable). Continental breakfast is limited. They ran out of bagels. But the staff was friendly and amenities sufficient and the location great for our stay.

This is a comfortable family run hotel. Rooms are large and have fireplaces. Breakfast is a bit limited but it’s enough for us.

We stayed in 2 bedroom unit. It was very nice had 2 bedrooms both with queen beds. We also had a full kitchen. Continental breakfast was available.
The owner Bill is very nice and accommodating. We will for sure stay again if in the area and recommend to friends and family visiting the area. Thank you Bill

I booked this trip on a Monday and the day of arrival (Friday), I receive a phone at 6:30 PM telling I have to check in by 9:00 PM. Drive time was 1hr 45 minutes. The hotel could have let me know any other day during the week that there is a specific check in time. Rushing to finishing work, load the car, get kids from their sports practices and race to drive from Seattle to Anacortes. The hotel caused so much last minute stress that could have been mitigated. It just ruined the trip. When I arrive in at the hotel, the sign says check in until 10PM. I said to the front desk, your sign says check in until 10PM. The rude lady, “we’re sold out tonight so 9PM”.
I didn’t think the hotel was safe. You receive a physical key to the room. Every room has the same key and anyone who stays there could easily make a copy of the key and they would have access to exterior doors and room doors. There is a dreadbolt on the room door. However, you do not receive that key. You can lock from the inside. However, you need to think about what’s being left in the room when you leave.
No USB plug in’s. Therefore, trek to Walgreens to buy a wall plug for a USB cord to charge phones.
No clock in the room.

Disappointed with Anaco Bay Inn.
On arrival we were told that our reserved and prepaid two bed rooms were not available and we would only have single bed rooms. That was uncomfortable and awkward.
(oh and no refund for the more expensive rooms we had paid for)
We chose not to use the ice machine because of the mold in the machine.
And regarding mold, One bathroom had mold on the shower curtain.
The Hotel advertised a complimentary breakfast. I guess the owners think a couple of bread slices and some yogurt is breakfast.
(I'll admit that the coffee was good) However there was only (their idea of breakfast) offered the first two mornings...on the third there was only coffee, no bread slices or yogurt.
Fortunately there is restaurants close by.
So yes, my family was disappointed. Very disappointed...I have never complained about a hotel, but The Anaco Bay Inn deserves my complaint.

Saw a review for this place about it not being the best but was a good quick stay so we booked it for one night. I would never stay here again.
We called to see about checking in early and the receptionist answered the phone saying “WHAT IS IT?!” My family had a good laugh about it after but it was a big turn off.
Then the overall environment of the inn was more than disappointing. The entire place is really outdated. Our bathtub was so gross my husband wouldn’t even shower in it. Sheets are thin and scratchy and we found hairs in our bed.
I never write bad reviews but I wish someone would have been more honest about this place before I booked it.

When we firat checked in, i noticed the outdated decore, shabby beds, a refrigerator that you had to close with a door stopper. And then, the next day, discovered an ant infestation. The desk clerk offered to clean it with Windex . I had daughter and grandkids withe me and the only thing she offered was anothee room with the same problem. We had been out all day exploring and, when we got back in the afternoon, we discovered the ants. She came down to the room and yelled at me for.not telling her sooner. We werent there! Then she yelled at me for not telling her before housekeeping left. I told here right after discovering them. She said there was nothing she could do. I said to her that she can refund me for the second night because we cant stay in a room that had ants everywhere. She said she cant because i reserved through you and I didnt tell her before 11:00 am which is check out time. Again, we were gone all day and didnt see them until we had gotten back that afternoon. She was in our room arguing with me in front of my grandkids and daughter. I was so shocked at her behavior. So, I lost money for one night and had to pay for a night at a different hotel. So disappointed.

DO NOT STAY HERE. This is the most disgusting place and management does not care. I am not kidding, 50% of the towels we received had stains as did the sheets and pillowcases. I asked for new sheets and they handed them to me so I changed the sheets myself. I literally put a T-shirt over my pillowcase at night. I was told our particular room was popular with workers from the oil refinery....so we deserve to pay $200/night for a room where the TV was missing the remote (the one you need to turn the TV on) and I had to ask for a sheet to put over the couch to even sit on it because it was so dirty, but then can't sit on it because it is broken (like a couch from a horrible college house). The hair dryer was broken and when I talked to the manager, he basically shrugged and just dropped off new towels on the coffee table. We also never got ANY housekeeping, no one came by in 3 days. I literally can't believe we didn't get bed bugs. Okay, then the breakfast. Families, don't be fooled. Don't stay here because it will be easier to feed the kids. My 6 year old walked in and started crying because everything looked gross. We found some sparkling water in the breakfast fridge and got excited but when it wasn't restocked we realized those were likely left by past guests. Anacortes is a lovely town, find somewhere else. Anywhere else.

This is a charming family-run hotel with clean, spacious and nicely-furnished rooms. All the rooms have gas fireplaces, a nice touch on wet chilly Pacific Northwest nights. The hotel does not have the "amenities" that justify higher star ratings, but is really quite an elegant place. I'd certainly stay there again.
