The Colonies at Williamsburg

Great for kids and family. Place was very clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Have an extra half hour to check out. Centrally located to restaurants and a grocery store a few minutes away by car. Great option instead of a traditional hotel room. Would recommend.

This is a townhouse style hotel. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea. There’s no daily housekeeping, you have to take out your own trash and make your own bed. For me that’s perfect but know that before you book here. I really liked the room, it was clean and spacious. But they lose a star on the linens. The mattress pads and some of the pillow cases looked like rags. Not dirty, just old. The extra blankets they give you are so heavy and itchy I didn’t want to use them and there’s a lack of pillows. The room only had one spare pillow for the pull out bed. I ended up buying 3 pillows at Walmart so we would be more comfortable. The pool was great and my kids loved it, but once again the pool towels are terrible looking I bought some at Walmart instead of using them. So overall I would stay here again but bring my own pillows and towels. The coffee in lobby is also very good for a hotel.

They only offer one parking pass by the unit you’re staying in but market the property towards families who actually may travel in more than one car. I saw other families with multiple cars park right next to one another however I was told I could not do the same. Only received one parking pass. There was a Huge whole in wall along steps leading to the unit and spider webs in corners of bedrooms near the ceiling. I could go on and on. Front desk needs interpersonal skills training. If you do not like working with the public then don’t work in the hospitality industry.

Property was perfect for kids

Clean beautiful and quiet. Wonderful and polite staff. Accessible to nearby attractions restaurants and gorgeous scenery. The very best accommodations I have EVER experienced. The condo had everything you need. Large rooms lovely kitchen and dining area and a washer/dryer!! Wonderful for families!

This isn't a fancy place, but the staff is friendly and everything is clean (not immaculate, but clean). Our villa/townhouse was massive for the price (and just two of us!). The hot tub is large and open all year (although the outdoor pool is not). We did not use the indoor pool or fitness center. Convenient location to many area attractions. It was a 10-12 minute drive to William and Mary. We had a two-bedroom, and the queen bed was nice; the king bed, unfortunately, was a bit saggy. :( Overall, I'd recommend for a budget-friendly place to stay with the family.

The kids had a great there with the pool and everything that this resort offers

Had to share a washer and dryer with my neighbors who always had wash going so never got to use the machine. Pool area was dirty kids were running around unattended. Pool water was cloudy and dirty. Game room was outdated. Property said it had activities but none were available for our stay! The neighbors were so loud it sounded like elephants running around on rampage!

Was great for my family. Nice to be able to cook instead of a normal hotel room.

Three adults and two children 6 3 had a fantastic stay at Colonies. The 2 bedroom suite was perfect-large, quiet and very clean. The beds were very comfortable. The kids loved the pool and had so much fun. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We will definitely go back.
