The elevator and air conditioning were both out of order. It was 92 degrees outside, so that made it very uncomfortable inside the building. I also called ahead to request a room on the first floor because one of the children in my party had recently had ACL surgery and was in a leg brace. I was told this wouldn’t be a problem. I was not made aware of the broken elevator and was told at check in the now only room left was on the third floor. I called for a refund and was denied because we stayed the night. We checked in at 10 pm and were not aware of all the issues. I feel like they should have at least offered a partial refund.

Rooms are pretty large for a motel. Beds are comfy and the place seems fairly safe and quiet. For the price, this is a good value. I actually don't want anyone else to know about it because it's close to my son and daughter-in-law so it's convenient for when I come to see my grand-baby and an inexpensive place to stay.

We were in town for spring family weekend at Virginia Tech and this hotel was perfect! We were a short drive from campus (about 10 minutes), staff was friendly, room was spacious (two queens) and I appreciate the grab and go breakfast in the mornings. Would definitely stay here again on our next visit!

We could not stay at this hotel. We left after looking at two different rooms on different floors. Both rooms had wrinkled sheets on the beds. The first room had a stained pillowcase and trash on the floor. The second room had a cockroach leg on the bed and hair on a wrinkled pillowcase.
These rooms did not look like they had been cleaned or taken care of. It was not a place that I wanted to sleep or my kids to sleep.

This hotel worked well for our family. It's only 15 min from VT and a double room can accomodate 5 (if one is smaller and can sleep on the window seat). The staff was friendly although it's a pain that they don't supply the correct number of towels and linens when they know we have 5 people. The room was very clean. The beds were just OK, but we were so tired, it wasn't an issue. Check in/out is very quick.

Friendly, family run establishment with affordable rates. Nothing fancy but very functional for the traveler who needs a clean and safe place to sleep. We used it for our visits to Virginia Tech- 15’ drive. It’s located near good breakfast, dining and shopping places. Some rooms lack refrigerator and their breakfast is just “continental”. But for the price , location and cleanliness is a a real gem! Highly recommend it!

Traveling through on family vacation. Room was great, when we arrived there was a family playing cards in the lobby having fun, it was refreshing to see this. Otherwise the room was clean and comfortable.

The staff was friendly and even gave us a bigger room because the room we had was too small. Warning… if you have 2 adults and 1 child, do not stay in a single room with a queen bed. We got a rollaway bed as we usually do in other hotels if we can’t get 2 beds, but we could barely fit the rollaway bed. We had to put it in front of the bathroom and entryway. It was so snug we thought it wasn’t going to fit. So in the middle of the night we had to crawl over our son to get to the bathroom, it was comical. But not at 3 in the morning. Then we had to wake him up to go in our bed in order to fold up the rollaway and get dressed for the day. But overall the hotel room was basic although it was clean. Neither room we stayed in had a mini fridge. Not good for us, as we like to bring water and snacks. We stayed for 3 days and even though we left the sign on the door to make up our room, no one ever did. So we had to ask for more towels and empty our own garbage. The price was good but it won’t be on the top of my list to stay again. It will be as a last resort. I don’t like to leave negative reviews but it was an honest review. We travel to Blacksburg often to visit our daughter at Virginia Tech and have stayed in a lot of the hotels in Blacksburg and Christainsburg all the way to Floyd, VA. This was one of our least favorite hotels.
