Holiday Inn Express & Suites Blacksburg - University Area, an IHG Hotel

We picked up our 3 grandchildren in GA and are headed to NH and drove 7.5 hours to get here and spend the night. We booked because it had a pool so we could get the children to un wind. Checked in to find that the pool was closed. Asked to cancel and was told we would loose our money as there were no cancelations allowed. We would have gone somewhere else with a working pool. There was nothing listing the pool being closed on line.

A wonder hotel for family. Pretty nice room

It's a beautiful hotel and the King rm was very spacious.I liked the layout alot. The staff was also very polite and the hotel itself seemed clean and fun. People were watching the game when I walked in and if i were more social, i would've watched it too. Lots of seating in the lobby. A few cons.. *I stayed in a room next to the pool. It was very loud due to kids playing and going in and out. *There were leftover "other people's hairs" in my shower and bed sheets. *I would prefer a tub *Trash in my bathroom trash can upon entry *The other trash can was left baggless and when it was changed, there was no bag replacement for the one i had to go get *The exit closest to my rm wouldnt open with the key *There was poison ivy in the landscaping near the walkways sticking out, so i had to watch out for that. Otherwise I enjoyed the stay

Very clean! Great pool that they even offered to leave open later so the kids could enjoy themselves. Breakfast was good and had lots of options.

The hotel was close to the Antique stores we were looking for. The staff were very nice and indoor pool was fun for my grandchildren.

Best location & best hotel for VT family
