Comfort Inn & Suites Christiansburg I-81

They were having a lot of issues with their amenities. Ice/vending were not working. The pool was shut down. They “clean” but there were still items on the floor from others before us. I might have found these bc I have toddlers.

A decent place to stay overnight with small family.

The only positive things to really say is that the front desk staff is nice. Beyond that - it's difficult to find anything even remotely approaching 2 stars. The building is very dated with signs of wear and neglect everywhere from the parking lot to every corner of the rooms. Over all it has a very "sketch" feel (my daughters words not mine) with more cameras in the halls than I've seen at any hotel (feels like they are their to capture evidence rather than as a security measure). Housekeeping evidently doesn't care about quality. - I found hairs of all sizes in the sheets, - A/C-heater was absolutely disgusting (how it isn't a health hazard is questionable - had not been cleaned [in or out] in a very long time, screen was caked solid with "gunk", door cover and casings completely broken), - less than an 1/4 roll of toilet paper (no extra rolls), - had to lay toilet paper on seat (mocking a cover) to feel comfortable to use, - every chair had debris and/or stains, - stains prevalent everywhere. I've stayed in many hotels over the years (travel for work and athletics) with this one a contender for worst places to stay. I will not let my family stay here again.

The staff was very nice. We were traveling with the grandchildren and made sure that the place had a pool. We got there and the pool was closed and it was not stated on website. They were very disapppointed and full of energy after 7 hours in the car. The shower was either old or dirty but did not look clean. The shower rod was sagging down and the curtain would only hang in the middle.with water spraying out both ends. The light switch at the door controlled almost all the lights. It tooksome trial and error to be able to use the cpap machine with the ligts off

This was a perfect night's stay for our travel back home from picking up our kid from college. The yummy breakfast was a bonus. Thank you.
