Hampton Inn Charlottesville

From the moment we arrived we felt like this hotel was going to be perfect. Pam and Renee were at the front desk checking folks in. They were so friendly and the check-in was so fast. This stay was at the end of our vacation and we were ready to relax and having the outdoor pool was exactly what we needed. We loved all the dining options around the hotel - we chose the Wood Grill buffet 0.9 miles down the road - great food! There were lots of stores and grocery stores around us. The hotel was quiet, clean and the beds were comfortable. We traveled to Charlottesville because we wanted to visit Monticello. Monticello is about a 16 minute drive down the road but near Interstate 64. Not disappointed with this hotel choice and would definitely recommend it to others traveling with family or alone.

We spent one night leading up to the UVa graduation (then moved to a rental we didn't get for enough nights). The staff is just exceptionally friendly and helpful - from the way a staffer helped with my coffee to the graduation decorations in the lobby. And then we had a crisis. We left a much loved stuffed bear in our room and when we came back 24 hours later, the women behind the desk were like old best friends. They completely understood the crisis, practically jogged down the hall to the lost and found, and offered me coffee guessing it had been a rough night without the bear. They suggested I say that bear had had a pajama party with them and to thank my child for letting bear stay another night with them. That kind of above and beyond "good peopleness" suggests to me that the staff feels appreciated by management and take pride in their work. Impressive and sadly rare. But I would stay at this Hampton Inn again and again.
