Hampton Inn Brattleboro

We arrive 01:30 am driving from a late flight from Boston and requested late checkout not for me for my 2 little kids and a baby and they are so tired that was expecting to have late checkout next morning but they said no because they were sold out next day, come on could not make an exception for my family?

My children and I were looking forward to checking into the hotel and change into our bathing suits to go swimming. Needless to say, we were VERY disappointed when we went down to the pool door and it would not open. We inquired at the front desk and were quickly told "It's been closed since August" with no additional explanation or care. I chose this hotel because it had a pool and I knew my kids would enjoy swimming. What a disappointment.

Hotel is fine overall but on this stay, the pool was closed. We were really looking forward to that as a family and would not have picked this hotel if we had known that. Call ahead if that is a priority for you.

Perfect for visiting our family

The Expedia description said room sleeps 5 and we have two queen beds for two adults and three children.

It is a very nice family hotel at a reasonable distance from Mount Snow (40 min drive)

Everything about the place *looked* good. And most of it was good, the service, breakfast, the pool, the nice mini fridge and microwave. The place was clean. But the very first function of a hotel is to give you a ***comfortable*** place to sleep, and fam, this place failed hard in that department. This coming from someone who can sleep through an air raid. Straight up, I've been on cots and even patches of ground in a sleeping bag that were more comfortable than the bed we had at this hotel. It was hard and lumpy, such that my whole body felt like one giant pressure point. The sheets were a small step up from burlap: very stiff and scratchy. The pillows sucked too; they felt fine until you actually put weight on them at which point they deflated like sad balloons to about 1/6th their original question thickness. I was in town for a family funeral and went to said funeral on an hour and a half of poor sleep, entirely due to that bed/bedding. Unlikely to stay here again because of that. For tech geeks: The "free" Wi-Fi also sucked unless you paid for it, and the free version made my iPad and phone have a conniption because the hotel's SSL certificate was invalid, but that problem is so common with public networks that I pretty much take it for granted now. Still, the hospitality industry should invest way more in their tech and tech support than they do.
