Holiday Inn Express & Suites N Waco Area - West, an IHG Hotel

The hotel was very nice and clean. Very spcious rooms and good breakfast. We were hear for a family members funeral. We have 4 kids and One of fhe reasons we picked this hotel was the pool. This was the only entertainment for the children while family dealt with the emotions of the loss of a loved one. There was no info on line that the pool was not open. We get there and are told the pool is down for maintenance. But noting was being done with the pool the 2 days we were there. This is very disappointing as the kids had nothing. We shoud have been told this on line.

Grandkids loved the breakfast options and everyone was very helpful and friendly with my elderly dog. Would definitely stay again.

Check in was a little off. After walking in and getting in line behind a family, the two ladies in the back office looked at me and said nothing. I wasn't sure what was going on since the family was in line and the two ladies didn't approach or say anything. I finally asked if I could check in and a third person came from the office and finished with the family and helped me. I was on the first floor and had crickets crawling around on the floor. At night, they would chirp in my room. When I saw the staff walking around, on break outside, or at the front desk...they didn't smile or speak. {odd} All in all, I would stay again...the room was comfortable, the area was clean, and it was a convenient location.

The hotel itself is a newer hotel and is nice. The breakfast was great, a nice hot breakfast with egg, biscuits and gravy and sausage links plus they had hot oatmeal and then the cold cereals and waffle and pancake makers and the usual items. The pool was closed for maintenance which I was a little sad about because I was planning on relaxing after a long trip. Also, a side note, this hotel is about 20 minutes north of Waco in West, TX so if you are like me and don’t pay attention then make sure you’re okay with it being a little farther out. All in all it was a pleasant stay and we the room was spacious and we slept like a baby.

We stay here when we come to Texas to see our family in West.

Terrible experience! Was put into a room with hot air blowing from AC unit. Then the second room we got moved to the Wi-Fi would not connect on any device, neither tv would work at all, and the AC never got as low as our kids room or the hallway. Staff was not helpful at all. Staff to busy smoking and texting to be bothered by a customer.
