La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Houston - Magnolia

The front desk staff was abrasive when checking in but I can understand because it was late. We found the room to be a little small but very clean. The primary issue for us was noise. The hotel is very close to a busy road and the windows did little to block out the road noise. The door to the room was also very poorly fitted in its frame so a large gap around the edges allowed any hallway noise to enter our room. So much so that it sounded like baby cry's and cell phone ringers from the next rooms sounded like they were in our room. On the last day of our stay the next room occupant turned on their TV at 3:45 AM and you could clearly hear every word from the TV through the wall. The breakfast bar was adequate but I considered the selection very limited. Same food everyday for a week.

Front desk went above and beyond to accommodate my family. I was happy with the room and the service.

Super clean, comfy beds, yummy breakfast they had so much variety to choose from, good WiFi connection for laptops, my family also enjoyed the indoor pool except it has a strong smell of chlorine because of the heat but it was clean all over. Staff was also very nice.

It is an average hotel, but do not try to get a good night's sleep: traffic noise, really loud music, screaming kid's in the hall (I like kids and have 4). The doors do not block much sound, and the windows sure don't. The bathroom floor was sticky. There were no plastic cups in the bathroom. I asked the manager about changing the room to one she said was quieter and at the same rate. She knew of the room and said it was vacant and available. Same room as mine, BUT, she could not move me to that room because I had booked through Expedia and not directly with the hotel. I have no idea why not. Nope, I had to stay in that room. I did not know that Expedia reserved room 305. The hotel was nowhere near full so this made no sense at all. I will not go back there. Weird and unpleasant.

Very clean hotel. We stay here as it’s convenient to our family.Always clean rooms!

Stayed while attending a wedding with my family. We had 2 rooms. 3 adults and 3 kids. Check in was fast and easy. Room was nice & clean. Kids enjoyed the indoor pool. Breakfast was good. We were on the 3rd floor and could hear people walking on the floor above. If you prefer a quiet room, I'd recommend staying on the top floor. If we were in the area again, we would stay at this hotel again.
