Feel safe in this hotel. You get plenty of rest on the awesome mattresses they have, with pillows that are equally comfortable too. It's always clean, housekeeping does a wonderful job. I've nvr been here when there are kids around so it's always been quiet and relaxing. Conference areas are awesome too; spacious, good food, the staff is more than attentive.

We arrived in this little beautiful town for our kid's orientation at Texas Tech University. We decided to stay at this hotel because its advertisement is the University affiliate. The hotel's lobby is large but the decorations are old. The staffs are not friendly. The hotel room had this strange stench, something similar to that of an old carpet, that literally would not go away; we sprayed perfume and the smell came back moments later. The bathrooms are somewhat clean, despite the strange orange colored rust on and inside of the bathtubs that did not go away even after showering. The desktop has a sticky surface and I can see the dust sticking to it. We spent the whole night trying to ignore the loud AC unit right next to our beds while we slept and we survived. My family and I left for the orientation all day. We came back to dirty glass cups that were scattered everywhere and coffee mugs still filled with coffee, also still on their random places on the table. Also, it was very clear that the carpet was not vacuumed (we even left a tip for the cleaning lady). We requested for new cups and the carpet to be vacuumed and whatnot, no big deal. Here’s the kicker: there was a piece of paper with a print out of a toilet and human feces slipped inside our door which left the entire family disturbed and baffled. Is it because we are Asian? It's just Sad. For more than $200 a night, this is just not worth it.

We love the Overton. It’s one of the only restaurants that’s open until 1. Which is important when you are there for a game and have an athlete playing. Dinner after the game with your child is important. It’s definitely overpriced for what you get. But when the price is right we book. Otherwise we stay at the Double Tree. It’s usually better priced during peak seasons.

Pros: parking is free, close to texas tech, room service, bar downstairs Cons: kids working at the front desk don't really know what they're doing, tub very slippery, water pressure in sink wierd ( it spurts and makes wierd noises). If you are just staying for a night or 2 it works.

Our room was very nice and comfortable. The food was excellent and most of the staff were wonderful. We had a challenging time with the bellhop upon arrival; however, real issue came on a Saturday night while spending time in the hotel room with family,4 middle age people. Simply casual conversation and occasional laughter, no music or other activity. A member of the hotel security knocked on the door and said
