Staybridge Suites Memphis - Poplar Ave East, an IHG Hotel

We stayed here for 2 nights as a family and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is in a very quiet location, almost in a business park area. Parking was easy, rooms were spacious and clean and the pool was lovely. Breakfast was very good, plenty of choice and nice to have fresh fruit. Overall. very positive

Pool area had about 40 to 50 people in it. Most of the people were not staying at hotel. It was very unfortunate that our kids couldn't swim. There was also someone with a dog in the pool. Marijuana smoke filled the air in pool area and inside hotel. Pool area was out of hand with no staff walk through or anything. I'm very disappointed in our stay.

I have stayed at many Staybridge and by far this one was the nastiest…I didn’t like the no parking! That made the stay hard. I also didn’t like the security driving through the parking lot very fast almost hit my child! Very unprofessional

The room was clean and smelled fine, the bathroom smelled like someone may have smoked in it or another room near by. Having a full size fridge was clutch for our family of 4 with food allergies. The area seemed relatively safe, my last trip to Memphis my car was broken in to at a Marriot, this area seemed up scale and security was present and doing laps continuously. I would stay here again and my wife said the same.

I reserved and paid for 2 rooms in advance. When i arrived I was informed that I had only one room reserved and the hotel was booked. The next morning I given my second reserved room and was told that it was available the night prior. They had my whole family crammed in one room for a night. Then told me that I had actually reserved 2 rooms and never checked in to the other room. After all the confusion and inconvenience, i am still waiting for reimbursement for a night I did not use one of their rooms and spent the night sleeping on the floor. Terribly disappointed!

I Loved the hotel. It was family friendly. I will definitely stay again.

Pros: Neighborhood felt safe. Front desk staff were friendly. Free breakfast (typical hotel breakfast fare). Separate living area from bedrooms which is so nice when traveling with kids. Pool area looked decent, but we didn’t use. Cons: Entire property is need of updating and maintenance! Lights out in elevators so they were very dark. Water stains on ceilings in room. Rooms were clean enough that I didn’t complain, but they really needed to be cleaned. Floors were sticky. Thick dust on vents and sprinklers in room. Mold in shower (very inadequate ventilation in bathroom). Carpet was obviously not vacuumed. Windows were filthy and actually had words and faces that were “drawn” on by fingers on the glass by previous guest. Overall, it wasn’t gross. It was adequate enough that I stayed and didn’t complain. But I would not be back without some major changes and updates.

This hotel was fabulous. We enjoyed this hotel and look forward to staying here again. We used the complimentary laundry. The bed was great. The breakfast was fabulous. My family loved this place. Rooms were so spacious and lovely. This is the only place to stay in the Memphis area.

Check in was easy, the room was nicely sized, the sofa was a little sketchy in appearance, there was a wet spot on the floor in between the beds and it smelled like dog urine upon entering the room. The front desk agent was helpful and offered to move our room, however with 5 children already settled we chose not to.
