Holiday Inn Express Johnson City, an IHG Hotel

Great for kids

We were traveling from Maryland to Alabama for a weeding and stayed one night. The staff was friendly and polite. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good, and the kids enjoyed the pool.

Very clean and nice hotel. Breakfast is always good. The pool had some problems. The heater was broken. My kids were upset and tried to play in the cold water. So next time check to make sure the heated pool is working.

We love this hotel it’s our go to place to stay when visiting family. The staff are friendly and very helpful. We stay here at least three times a year. I highly recommend it for anyone! Also the breakfast has a lot different options even for the pickiest eaters.

The facility was very clean. The kids loved the pool and hot tub.

We used the pool and hot tub. We had our 3yr old grand dauhter with. The pool was warm enough to enjoy. And she sat on the steps with her feet in the hot tub. Breakfest was great Hot and cold items. Plenty of space.We had gotten a larger room for our kids to stay with us. Very spacious. Very comfortable beds and pillows.Good price. I would do it again.

POSITIVE: Rooms are designed for modern-day travelers. There are many electric outlets, USB ports at numerous locations throughout the room - @ 16. Great design of space to lay open multiple pieces of luggage Kitchenette and counter space was well designed Breakfast food selection and quality was good; VERY clean and well maintained during service hours 4 staff interactions - 3 were excellent - friendly and very accommodating; one did not meet that expectation King-bed mattress and linens were excellent Bathroom size and counter space were good; new 2 large head shower system in addition to bath; environment-friendly body wash/shampoo/conditioner/lotion dispensers; towels good quality NEGATIVE: - Check-in: Arrived 2-hours before stated check-in and informed room was not ready, despite empty parking lot. Informed would be called when room was ready. Did not receive a call and when we returned, our reserved room was not available - sold to a walk-in. Too tired to search for a room at a nearby hotel, we accepted the only available room which did not accommodate everyone in our family. A pull-out couch was available but not usable - mattress worn, torn, compressed to @ 4-inches. * Window shades could not be opened * Parking lot was hazardous at night as it lacked lighting down steep curving driveway OVERALL: Had it not been for the poor check-in experience and botched handling of reservation, this hotel experience would have received a 5 rating.

Staff went above and beyond, they were super kind and . accommodating. Hot tub and pool being inside was awesome so weather wasnt a concern. Breakfast was damn good for a hotel with some options changing. Clean and quiet I would stay here again and when family visit I will encourage them to stay here as well.

The hotel was nice but the beds were very uncomfortable. Evening/night staff was friendly but we left 6:30 Sunday morning & the person at the desk acted as if I was a bother. Due to low staff we had to go to the front desk for fresh towels they no longer come to your room during your stay. When we checked in our room only had 1 towel & 3 wash cloths for a family of 4.

The room was only stocked with one bath towel. We advised the front desk to bring more to the room and they never did. The biggest issue was children playing in the hallway right outside our room at 130am. We did not get much rest. I highly recommend staying elsewhere!
