Holiday Inn Express & Suites Sioux City North-Event Center, an IHG Hotel

We had a good stay. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom very nice. Was disappointed in the family not having hot breakfast as advertised. Was happy that the front desk said they would they would discount for that

It’s a family friendly and clean place

Good overnight stay with family as we made our way across country. Just note the entrance is around back of building, the front doors are actually part of the convention center part of hotel.

There was a large group of kids staying at this hotel and the staff could not keep them quiet. We made several requests to the front desk, and it continued after that. I have stayed here before and it is an excellent hotel. VERY DISAPPOINTED this time. I would look for a different hotel in Sioux City.

1. Pool was not working. The piece to fix was ‘supposed’ to arrive Thursday but we had no pool all weekend. At checkin I let the front staff know that I chose that hotel specifically bc it had a pool; I received a not very empathetic “well, sorry” The pool is NOT the fault of the staff, I understand, but I brought 3 kids along that anticipated a pool - just a bummer! 2. Like I said, we brought several of our kids with us so we booked a suite for the extra beds and separate rooms. The room was NOTHiNG like what was described. The 2 rooms? One had all the beds in the same area and the other housed only the refrigerator and microwave - so really it was equivalent to a standard room at the cost of a suite. 3. The reason for poor score: Front desk staff (her name is Kori (sp?)) was on her personal cell the entire time my family was eating breakfast in the lobby. She was talking to customers with her phone in her ear. She went through several checkouts without once putting her phone down. A family checked out at the desk and she immediately began talking about them and making VERY crude jokes and comments about them. I can’t even post here what she said as it is too inappropriate. And she was loud!! Every person in the lobby heard her talking about the customers like this - doesn’t leave a very good impression on guests knowing she will likely do the same to them. It was disgusting to listen to a customer service rep - OR ANY HUMAN IN GENERAL - talk about another person like that.
