Penn Wells Lodge

Came to Wellsboro for a family wedding! Had an awesome time at hotel, all our rooms were together!

This property was close to everything and you can walk to any restaurant or shops you like. There was a lot of young families staying there so using the pool would have been difficult. Children were running around the pool and jumping in. I was disappointed by that because the pool was monopolized by the children.

The Pennwells lodge was the perfect weekend getaway for my family. All of the staff was super kind, the continental breakfast was very convenient and the perfect start to the day going around the PA Grand canyon. The town of Wellsboro has lots of restaurants and stores within a quarter mile of the lodge.

Everyone was friendly at the hotel, and the lobby looked nice. My kids enjoyed the pool. Unfortunately, the room was experiencing moisture issues. There was mold on the bathroom ceiling and around the caulking, and the register in the bathroom had obviously rusted and been painted over. Also the mattresses had depressions that made sleeping on them very challenging. We like the fact that you could walk to dinner. We just expected that, for the price, the room would be in better shape.

Super friendly and accommodating staff. Grandchildren loved the pool.

We had a suite, which was perfect for us. We were on a long trip and had about 350 lbs of luggage and gear, so we very much needed the space. Nice large fridge and microwave, both of which worked well. Two large TV's, so no arguing with the family on what to watch. Two large dressers with drawers. Sofa, chair and 3 tables and lamps in the living room. Two full queen beds. HVAC worked great. It was just all around nice. On the negative side, the breakfast choices were very limited, same thing every day. And the hours for the pool, hot tub, and exercise room were very limited (closing at 8 pm!), and with our busy schedule, we were never able to use any of it.
