The Conwell Inn

Visited for friend's memorial service and to also see some sites for 3 days. Transportation by rail from airport (Temple station) or rail & subway (Suburban station & Broad St Line to Cecil B Moore station), was just a few blocks walk. Broad St just a half block away where bus also connects to city centre. Queen room was very comfortable place to return to. Room key went dormant each day & had to be renewed at front desk even though I was booked in for 3 days. Staff was pleasant though one seemed a bit indifferent when asked about advertised coupons at adjoining coffee shop which had "stopped 2 years ago" & also about my difficulty using WiFi in room(could use in lobby). Breakfast in lobby was satisfying, cereals, yogurts, good coffee & tea, OJ, toast & jam self serve & chance to chat with other travelers & exchange travel tips. 2 newspapers appeared to be delivered there. Afternoon homemade cookies in lobby were super. Fruit was always Granny Smith apples. Most visitors were there for Temple U activities, unlike myself. One night a group with about 8 children were noisy in hallways & banging doors & there was a marching band with drums & brass practising nearby when I arrived..otherwise it was peaceful.
