Holiday Inn Express Irwin (PA TPK Exit 67), an IHG Hotel

First impressions weren’t good. We had gotten a king room and it was very small. Pretty tight. No chair other than the desk chair. We were there for a family get together, so didn’t spend much time in the room. The staff was WONDERFUL!! Hotel in a good location. Close to turnpike, shopping and restaurants.

Excellent stay just off of the PA turnpike. Needed a clean, reliable place to stay in the middle of a long drive and this fit the bill. Free breakfast with compostable to-go containers for my kids who were still sleeping was a nice bonus.

We stayed two nights, Dec 24 and Dec 25 while visiting family in the area. We were advised up front only skeletal housekeeping staff available on Christmas Day , but it was fine. Breakfast was ready and that was very helpful for us…

I have always liked Holiday Inn Express when I come to Irwin for class reunions or family gatherings. The rooms are clean. The staff is pleasant, and the breakfasts are very good. I only encountered one problem. My room was just 2 doors down the hall on the first floor. On 2 of the 4 nights that I stayed there, people arrived late at night, around midnight. They were talking loudly for quite some time. They weren't shouting or saying anything inappropriate, but just not taking into consideration that people would be sleeping at that time in rooms not far away from the lobby area. I wonder if a sign could be posted in a very noticeable area that reads "Please for our guests, lower your voices between the hours of 10 PM and 7 AM." Unfortunately, I'm one of those people who when disturbed from a sound sleep, can't get back to sleep for several hours.

The staff was very nice however there was a large crack in our window and that was a little unnerving, the only ice machine was in the lobby which was very inconvenient for us being on the top floor. The breakfast was very tasty, however the seating area was very small and we got the last available table when there were only two other families in there. Overall it’s a decent hotel but I probably won’t be staying here again.

Have stayed here several times when visiting family. I’ve never had a negative experience. Usually check in late at night. Very efficient.

The room size was good and had the necessary amenties. However the bathroom had ofrange moldin the shower, not good. Lots of noise could be heard into the early morning hours...laundry machines, kids screaming, eyc.

I will not be staying here again. I stayed in the largest room in the hotell. The elevator floor was flithy and was not vacuumed once during a 5 night stay. The one and only ice maker in the hotel was broken the entire time I was there. In the room, the bathroom door handle was falling off, no toilet paper holder, there was no overhead light in the sitting room, and the AC unit in the sitting room barely worked. Had to freeze the bedroom to get the sitting room cool enough. Supposedly this hotel had been recently renovated. If so, there was no quality control. All of these things, added to two trashy adult screaming matches and several loud kids' arguments, made for a very undesirable stay. Unfortunately, my first choice of hotel was fully booked.

I read reviews prior, so i wasn't surprised to find a child corralled behind the counter upon entry. I was suprised to see no one wears any sort of uniform(like a logo shirt) not even a name tag. The lobby scent used (because it seems like a freshner) smells like baby wipes, and it has nothing to do with the child there! It is just an odd scent they chose! The ice machine was still broken, as the review of 6 months ago said. My room was nice, beds comfortable loved separation of sitting room. However, my cleaning lady must have been interrupted because a cleaning rag was left on the desk and no liner in the garbage can. The Dove products in built in dispenser was appreciated! The best part was the complimentary breakfast. Amazed at the variety. And the thought put into on the go breakfast. They even wentbas far as providing little shopping bags to put it in. This was a pleasant send off. Overall, was a decent stay.

The lady at the reception desk was very friendly but there was a small child with many toys and a pack'n play behind the counter. I checked in at 330pm and when for a snack at 10 and the same person was at the desk and so was the child. The bathroom was accessible with grab bars on half the room but the towels were across the room from the tub. Overall my stay was good.
