DoubleTree by Hilton Pittsburgh Airport

Hotel was fine but they even though my rooms were both booked by me and under one itinerary they wouldn’t let me check in for both rooms because I put my husbands name on the second room. He was getting my kids out of the car and I had to call him in. Even though in front of me I had the whole itinerary. Not a big deal but very inconvenient and no help from the front desk.

This hotel was very well kept and very clean. The staff especially April was simply the best. And also the young lady that checked us out Sunday morning, was very nice. The only reason I wouldn’t give this hotel a 10/10 is because of the buffet breakfast, it was not the best. Next time I would just order off the menu. It’s in a great location close to food and shopping. You do hear the planes taking off but it wasn’t loud to the point it kept us up or interrupted our stay. Overall would definitely recommend to family and friends. Go Steelers!!!

Friendly and clean Not satisfied with the way of towels kept for small family

The staff were helpful and courteous. The hotel had nice amenities for families. Unfortunately, the pool and fitness center were closed for construction, but we knew that in advance. It was nice to have a restaurant on site. The food was good, but a bit salty. There was fresh coffee available in the lobby. And of course, free cookies on arrival. The room itself was updated and very very clean. The bedding was comfortable, but the pillows lacked support. The only issue we had with the room was noisy neighbors. (On that note, fellow parents, be mindful of how noisy your precious kids are in public places). The airport shuttle was great. It runs every 30 mins from the hotel and was on time. We signed up for a time slot the night before and were on our way when they said we would be. Overall, great hotel and would stay again.

The hotel staff that checked us in was very rude. The maid let herself into our room in the morning without knocking catching us off guard. The available breakfast in the morning was terrible. I've had a better offerings at hotels that have complimentary breakfast. The buffet was over $12 a person and not worth it. Dry cereal, fruit and Danish are not a buffet. As soon as the hot dishes were put out they disappearred. Not much for the kids so not recommended for anyone with a family. Would not stay here again even though I have family in the area.
