The Dalles Inn

This was a very last minute stop for the evening on a road trip. We chose this hotel and while we had the absolute sweetest lady check us in, we encountered many earwigs along the hallways. That led us to spending almost 2 hours pulling apart all the bedding and checking under everything to make sure there weren’t any in the room…and thankfully there weren’t…but it had our kids all worried so it just made for a longer night than we needed & a bit more worrisome. Earwigs are harmless but it definitely makes you feel a little crawly when you really just want a clean & comfy night in. We didn’t ask for a different room or for a refund, but would have if we found any in ours.

Great stay for our family! Comfy beds and nice clean rooms. Free grab and go breakfast and very close to restaurants just a few steps away! Friendly staff too. We would stay again!

The pool is permanently closed and we had picked this place to stay so our kids could swim.

Was just a quick stay on our way through....was super clean and nice kids were bummed about pool being broken looked like a swamp but was a nice room

This was a comfortable and historic looking hotel right downtown in this quaint town. Perfect place to stop after a long trip and only a bit over an hour to pick up family at Portland airport the next morning. And the desk staff was SUPER helpful at check in. He went above and beyond to get us the type of room we wanted. Would stay here again.

Pool not working, was not told at check.in. i picked it for a pool for kids. We got a big story on spending alot of money to repair and permits to open were not approved.....They didn't clean or service room at all, we were told at desk they are too short staffed. I had to go get towels..no garbage picked up..Not anything but a bagged breakfast saying it was still covid protocol.......out of paper coffee cup which were the only ones you can microwave. There are also bugs.... We had stayed here before awhile ago and it was good but we will not be back. Too bad it's a good location. I will say the AC works well.....good thing since it was over 100 degrees out.

The staff was very friendly and kind. Housekeeping does this thing where they leave your room open after they clean it which we didn’t like. As far as the property itself, I can tell some of it has been updated, but the carpets are trashed, and nothing really felt clean. The walls are paper thin, and the first night there’s were crying children that kept us up all night, because it felt as if they were in our room with us.

When we arrived 1.5 hrs after check in time we still had to wait outside our room while they cleaned it. We were put on the 3rd floor even though we specifically asked for a ground floor because we traveled with our dog. That evening when the room above showered filthy water came out of our ceiling above our shower and then dripped all night . We couldn’t shower because the filth dripping from ceiling. Same thing happened again at 3 am when they showered again. We couldn’t shower in am either because we wouldn’t stand under the large paint bubble of filthy water above our shower. They said all rooms were full. The guest above us was erratic with their pounding on floor and hitting something metal. Not kidding, their loud directed behaviors were like something from a horror movie. At 3 am after rm above us showering it started again. Dog and us still awake so went outside with dog for potty and got locked out of building. Told after being locked out that it’s for building safety. Is the area that bad? Never got locked out of a hotel before. Not warned it locked either. After being let in complained to front desk again at 3 am regarding everything. Next morning (sleepless) complained again. Check out lady was so preoccupied she didn’t even look at me or make anything right. I know this place is cheaper but it’s not worth it . Horrible experience.

Adorable little rivertown hotel/motel. We really enjoyed our stay. Cleam rooms. Super friendly staff, appeared to be family owned which we loved. Close to several bars and restaurants and grocery store not far away either. Our room had a fridge which was a nice addition. Highly recommend.

Ok enough. Had two rooms for a family of 5. Ice machine on first floor. Breakfast is not breakfast. Two flavors of cereal and a bit of milk left in a gallon in the frig. AC worked. Frig. Bathtub faucet leaked badly in both rooms. Fair value. Good location.
