The hotel was very nice and all staff were friendly, but Matt at the front desk stood out! He was able to get us checked in with a great room despite and error on behalf of hotels.com. I would definitely stay here again when we visit family.

Great place near PSU to stay in Portland. Everything is great there and the staff is so nice. We especially loved the lounge area to hang out with our family members. Park some place else and the price to park at their garage is a rip off. Quality of food at restaurant is poor, but good drinks.

Stay was meh, just ok. Parking is $45/night, are you kidding? Your towels take off several layers of skin they are so ROUGH! I had not one glass or cup to drink water from. Room is cold and bismal place to have to do more than sleep there.

I really enjoyed the hotel Vance in Portland, OR, in addition to a pretty spectacular property, the service and support for animals is as impressive as I have ever seen. Our family dog, who is elderly with well taken care of with a beautiful room and great accommodations.

Hotel Vance is walkung distance from Portland State Iniversity. I loved the modern decor. My family and loved how comfortable the beds were. The room was quiet, you didn't people in other room, nor noise from outside. And, the front desk person was very nice and welcoming. Finally, the check in and out was very, very easy.

Pros: Check in easy. Starbucks located on property and is ran well. Rooms A/C feels great, beds are comfortable. Nice big desk and decent TV with lots of channels. My window had a nice view of greenery. Park behind the hotel is great. Overall location is super. Donuts, coffee, cafes, short walks in any direction. Neutral: Room design is cold, brutalist, minimal, and has a, kind-of psych-ward / prison vibe. For my circumstances this was actually a perfect fit. But some people might find the overall aesthetics nauseating. Cons: The walls are very thin. You can hear TV's through the walls, and people talking. I had body wash the first night but it was not replaced the following nights. The toilet bowl was very uncomfortable to sit on and I felt like I was falling in. The shower door, or say half door, doesn't work. When I arrived I noticed a towel on the ground and wondered why that was there. When I decided to take my first shower I realized the door doesn't close or move, thus water leaks out onto the bathroom floor. I take pretty quick showers but even I created a huge mess that required at least two towels for a decent clean up. If you have kids that take long shower request extra towels on arrival. Sometimes the elevator door would open to a construction area. I closed the door to continue down and a worker growled at me and said "hey I need that god-damn elevator..." I just laughed it off because of the timing but it was an odd encounter. 3/5 overall.

I love the art design of the hotel. The location is convenient. My family is able to walk to shops and restaurants within few minutes. Plenty of power plug-ins including those for USB chargers. However, there are something need to improve. There is not much information about hotel utilities. We have to ask the front desk where is the gym. At lease the staff was helpful. The room was quite dim at night. Need to add more lights. Water pressure from the sink faucet was too small. It takes some time even to wash hands. I still enjoy my stay.

The service was extraordinary- above and beyond helpful at every opportunity. The room was very clean and spacious and the hotel location allowed us to walk to many locations downtown. The game room was super fun for my older kids.

It matched my hoodie, that was amazeballz. My toddler dug the "princess bathroom" pretty sweet yo'. seriously good service. Wife left a phone in the room, I came back a few days later to retrieve it and the team were on top of looking for it and sincere in helping. Chill place.
