The Lafayette A grand Riverboat Era Hotel

The Lafayette is by far one of our favorite places. The staff is amazing. It’s quiet with beautiful views. There are 2 restaurants within the building and a Starbucks. It has one elevator but we’ve never had to wait long. Our kids love the historic aspect of it. With 4 of us taking showers we never ran out of hot water. Mattresses are firm.

Pro: The hotel is a historical gem; you cannot get a better location in Marietta. The complimentary breakfast was delicious in a lovely setting. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Con: It's an older property, which gives it its charm, but that likewise comes with some downsides, which paled in comparison to its virtues. Chief among those downsides were the labyrinthine hallways to your room. That wasn't a problem for our family, but I could see that annoying certain people with mobility issues along with the small elevator. Nonetheless, we loved the hotel and really enjoyed our stay in this delightful river town.

We liked the overall vintage ambiance of the hotel and the step back in time feeling of the antique furnishings in our room. Everything was clean and the staff was friendly. A special shout out to Rebecca and Bradley at the front desk. They were very diligent to ensure we were assigned the specific accommodations we reserved. We were unable to dine in the Gun Room restaurant for evening meals due to Christmas bookings but really enjoyed our breakfasts there. There was ample comfortable seating in the lobby for our family game night. The only big issue was the blustery deep freeze (below zero) windchill provided by mother nature that made it impossible to stroll down the street and enjoy the local shops and Christmas decorations.

This was the perfect place to stay in Marrietta! The hotel is gorgeous, the location is perfect, and the bar/restaurant was fabulous! We’ve recommended it to all of our family and friends.
