Holiday Inn Express & Suites Parkersburg East, an IHG Hotel

All 4 of my kids had rashes after swimming in the pool. I asked for towels before the kids got in the pool , the front desk gave them hand towels to use to dry off at the pool

This is our second time staying at this hotel and we love it. The staff are so welcoming, the hotel is very cleanly. It’s such a nice place to relax and enjoy a little getaway with the family. Our only complaint is that both times we’ve gone, the pool has been too cold for the kids to enjoy. Which, is very minuscule, although disappointing. We will continue to visit this hotel on our weekend getaways though because everything else is top notch!

Great property near my family so that made it more desirable. Enjoyed the continental breakfast both mornings which was great. Could’ve used a few more fruit options but good overall. The only area that I felt really needed attention was the cleanliness of the elevators. Perhaps carpet isn’t the best choice in this high traffic area. All in all, a great visit and will definitely be back.

Front desk was always kind, generous and helpful. There are no vending machines, but they do have a little market, that is reasonably priced. We went on a Sunday so pool / hot tub were available.I sat outside on Monday as it was unusually hot for late April. There are lounge chairs and regular ones, but no side tables.Also the chairs are all pushed up against the building in the shade.I did a makeshift of 2 regular chairs , so I could put my feet up. We have family that live in Belpre and thought we would try a different place out.Other places we have stayed have way better outdoor spaces. Also the A.C sounds like a plane is flying overhead. The beds were comfortable and we appreciated the double set of blinds. The view was a tar covered roof and some type of housing beyond it. There was only 1 tiny trash can in bathroom, so I bagged up our trash in 2nd day and put in hallway.Like most, the walls are super thin. We love a hot tub , but the jets are very mild. It could be better, but was just Fine.

I like that it was easy to find. I did not like the constant sound of water running inside the walls from the bathroom on the 3rd floor and the kids who were constantly running back and forth above us. Holiday Inn has always been my favorite placw to stay but this is the first one I have not liked.

This place is by far one of the nicest, cleanest places my family and I have stayed. Very impressed with how clean the entire place was. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Very spacious room, even the bathroom had plenty of space. Quiet location. Beds were firm. Night staff was friendly and efficient. Breakfast was nicely presented. I have family in the area and I will definitely stay here again.

We stayed during the Stern Wheel Festival in Marietta. At first, we were disappointed not to be able to find a hotel in Marietta but are so glad we stayed here. We visit Marietta frequently to see family and this is going to be our first choice.

Our family checked in Saturday evening and the front desk was awesome, extremely friendly and very professional. Everything was wonderful, EXCEPT the complimentary breakfast, it was a joke ( IT’S BASICALLY A FIRST COME FIRST SERVE) That’s not right !! If breakfast is from 6-9:30/10 then there needs to be adequate food there !! Hardly anything Sunday morning & Monday morning was horrible, the front desk as well as the elderly lady were VERY RUDE!! When asked about refilling the empty containers because there was NOTHING left ( at 8:30) except cereal and a couple cinnamon rolls- the elderly lady said we are all out of everything because it’s the day before the truck comes .. Listen I’ve worked in the hotel business for many years and that’s BS !! It’s a shame because everything else was absolutely wonderful, but it only takes one bad apple to ruin the bushel!!

Ended up with hotel in Parkersburg, West Virginia after all hotels in Athens, Ohio were booked due to over 5000 students graduating from University of Ohio so friends and family of those students had booked all the rooms. My family members were staying in Ohio but was able to bring my Mother back to Holiday Inn and the difference between this luxurious hotel compared to where she was staying was night and day.
