Sonesta Select Raleigh Durham Airport

Single- night stay to meet with family at start of roadtrip. + Hotel is right next to the airport, making the hotel shuttle transfer painless and fast. - However, this also puts the property in the landing path for flights. Even though the airport minimizes late evening/ early morning flights, you will hear planes as they come in to land- but they aren't overwhelming. + Check-in was quick and easy, staff very helpful. + Hotel is older but seemed well maintained. Room was large, bed a bit squishy but comfortable. Fitness center had a good range of equipment and a reasonable amount of space. Did not try the pool. ++ big points for the shower- plenty of hot water at good pressure.

The hotel was nice and clean but disappointed on the breakfast it was never open and there wasn’t really much of a selection ended up taking kids out every morning for breakfast! Not really what was advertised when I booked

Stayed here for 2 days visiting family and loved this location and our comfortable room.

Stayed here during thanksgiving to be close to family. For the price, I took a chance. Front desk staff are not friendly or welcoming. Got in at 2 AM from a 10 hour drive to check in the front desk lady says “I’ll be with you in a minute I’m doing someone else’s job don’t you hate that” like yikes how about a welcome or something! There was puke outside the elevator for two days. I called and it didn’t get cleaned until a day later. Would spend the extra money to stay somewhere nicer.

We stayed near the airport after a family reunion in VA. We had to get up really early, but the shuttle was ready on time and had lots of times early morning. The rooms are also larger than most, so I love that feature.

My family and I enjoyed our stay. The hotel is very clean and staff is helpful and kind. I would definitely recommend Sonesta.

Check in at 5pm Friday was very slow as clerks chatted together. When returning to our room after dinner using one of the back doors, we were confronted by two un-savory looking men asking what room we were in and asking if their 300something room was in another building because they couldn't find it. We would not let them in and reported the issue to the front desk - who seemed totally unconcerned. I cringe to think what may have happened to any young woman with a kind heart who may have tried to assitst them. Regarding the room - the sheets were very scratchy, the pillows were so soft that even two together didn't support your head, and the TV was perpendicular to the side of the bed, making it very uncomfortable to watch before going to sleep, and the mini-fridge didn't get cold. Additionally, there is no free breakfast and a bowl of cereal was over $5.00 - RIDICULOUS. Will find somewhere else to stay when we visit family in the area - not worth the safety concerns and uncomfortable sheets/pillows.
