Hampton Inn by Hilton Concord/Kannapolis

Great place to stay. I had to stay in the area due to a family members hospital stay in the area and this place was convenient and clean!

We had a really nice room. Very comfortable with the King size bed. We like the location because it is close to our families.

The room was very nice and clean. we love staying here , because it is so close to our families.

My room, 511: broken cabinetry, broken shower wall, musty odor. The staff: I spent my entire breakfast listening to front desk person read guest reviews aloud the proceed to trash talk the reviews. This was followed with an encore of guest-bashing chatter with a coworker. At one point going so far as to say, “this woman complained about the pool not being open and I was like ‘the pool isn’t part of the cost, it is a bonus.’” This particular front desk clerk obviously lost sight of the fact that the people she was bashing are guests” and should be treated with respect and courtesy. And on the subject of breakfast: It was below or even for a free hotel breakfast. Coffee was cold. Food was cold. Milk, oddly enough, was not. Which might be why I was sick for most of the day afterward. I will not be staying at this location again and will be sure to let friends and family to go the few extra miles to another facility.

I have settled on Hampton Inns as good, clean and moderately priced places to stay for many of our family trips. More often than not, they do a great job at what they do, but this hotel was a disappointment. Nothing horrible, but consistent signs throughout the hotel that the management and staff aren't paying attention or living up to the chain's standards. It started at checkout, when I waited a long time behind one couple at registration as the two employees behind the counter chatted with them. No "we'll be right with you" or acknowledgment that I was standing there. From the conversation, there clearly was no problem with the couple's registration, just a decision by both employees to let me wait while they chatted. Also, one of the clerks apparently had eaten a bad burrito or something, as she repeatedly moaned, grimaced, and grabbed her midsection. After check-in, I went to fill my room's ice bucket and found the ice machine on my floor with an "out of order" note taped to the front. The note directed me up a floor to get ice. That machine worked, but right next to it, the drink machine was also out of order. I checked later during my two-day stay and found other similar signs on machines throughout the hotel. And nothing seemed to be getting fixed. In my bathroom, housekeeping failed to leave the usual hotel shampoo. They also left the in-room coffeepot dirty after Day 1 and left breakfast dishes -- including a half-full glass of orange juice -- when they "cleaned" the room.
