Pod Brooklyn

The POD has a typical tiny room I've gotten at hotels in Manhattan, only it's in Brooklyn (Williamsburg). The toilet is in the shower and the sink is big enough to bathe a baby in -- a baby mouse, that is. Still, they managed to get a comfortable queen-sized mattress in there, and it's well-designed enough that even though there's no closet, there are plenty of places to hang your clothes. There's space under the bed for a suitcase. Other nice touches: a safe under the bed, metal shutters that are easy to work. There's really not much in the way of frills. The hotel does not even offer free coffee in the morning. There is a bar downstairs that's also a morning cafe, and the neighborhood has many cafes and restaurants. The J and L lines are a short walk away for getting to Manhattan. Very convenient to La Guardia airport.

The room was not what we expected. The shower is located above the toilet. When we pulled the sheets back, there was hair on the pillows and a large yellow stain on the sheets. There were no face towels. When we brought all these concerns to the attention of the front desk, we provided 1 dirty face towel and the sheets we were expected to change ourselves. The front desk told us this had been a problem all week but we were baffled on why it had not been addressed before now. We left the the hotel to find another location. This all took place at about 2am after a full day of traveling and visiting family. We will never recommend this location to anyone.

Some time ago I stayed here with two children and we loved the bunk rooms! More recent stay was a quick in and out for NYE, and it was a bit of a shock at how small and inconvenient the layout of the (non bunk) room was. Even compared to small city hotel rooms, this one was pretty hard to use. We like the vibe and location, I wouldn't rule out staying here - but be prepared for space!

Fire alarm went off because kids was smoking in the room but guess was told that it was a break in by an intruder. Had to evacuate the building for a hour 3am in the morning

I was in town helping a family member move. The Pod was in a GREAT location and provided everything I needed. The room was small, but it worked for me. I also had very good service and was impressed with how clean everything was. In short, it was a great stay
