I stay at this hotel every week for the past 5 months having tried other hotels in the area. Even though I stay for business, I would feel very comfortable having my family and friends stay there as well. Shout out to Ty Williams and Xavier, great front desk customer service managers who will do anything to make sure your stay is great one!! well done guys.

The staff were all fabulous. The restaurant manager kept the place open for my family so that we could spend more time together . The rooms were large for NYC and aside from very small closets, were well appointed.

What a gem. Modern construction which makes the rooms quiet and yet feel upscale. The staff was incredibly courteous. They also have dedicated parking which was incredibly helpful with multiple suitcases and kids (we didn’t have to drop everything off and then go find parking). I will def us 42 again!

Beds and linnen super comfortable, great pillows as well. Slept like a baby. That's my main concern when picking a hotel! The rooms were clean and service great. Only minus was that the restaurant was under renovation and there was no mini bar, had I known I'd brought a bottle of wine :)

We stayed at 42 Hotel for one night. The parking that is available on site is extremely limited (about 8 spaces right next to the building on Hewes street) and costs $45. For that fee, you could probably manage to street park your vehicle without too much trouble on the right day. Location - not a ton to do in the immediate area if you're looking for nightlife. The bar inside the hotel closes at 10PM. Staff - the first person we encountered at the front desk appeared to have brought his child to work with him - paw patrol was on in the lobby. He didn't even acknowledge us when we entered the building. Rude. He also said they were fully booked and he didn't have a room ready for us when we got there 2 hours before check in, however, we feel this was incorrect... keep reading. The woman who checked us in was INCREDIBLE. Friendly and accommodating when we had an issue. Room - Our room was clean, bed comfortable. I noticed our blackout shade had not been installed (parking lot with BRIGHT spotlights directly outside the window) and the remote for our tv wasn't programmed so we couldn't watch tv etc. They DID offer to move us twice, but we said no, it was only a night and not worth the effort at 1AM. But loved that they wanted to make it right. Overall, minus the rude staff member that brought his child to work, who we did end up dealing with twice, this hotel is nice and worth it if you want to stay in a boutique hotel. Professionalism could've been better, but it's New York.

We had a perfectly lovely stay. We booked a Superior King room, and I agree with other comments that you probably don't get much usable space from that "upgrade." We were in room 401, which had a utility room on one side and another guest room on another; this might be why we had no issues at all with noise. The bed was medium firm and quite comfortable. We ran a white noise app through the bluetooth speaker and slept like babies. The sitting chair was also comfortable. On the fourth floor it was a tad warm relative to how we prefer to sleep (thermostat only cools to 67), but we were able to open a window and cool the room substantially more; we closed it when things got noisy in the morning. Only minor issues: the water did take quite some time to get warm. My partner took a cold-ish shower on the first day. I let the water run for about five minutes before getting in, and it was plenty hot. Second minor issue: we added a day to our stay. The night before, I spoke with the front desk to make sure we were fine to stay put in our room. The next morning, we didn't get back until about 3 a.m., and at 11:30, the front desk called to ask us to vacate, as we were 30 minutes over the check out time. We were still asleep, so I pretty sternly informed them of our reservation and that we spoke with the front desk the evening before, and he was very apologetic. Happens! All in all: I would 100% stay here again.
