Hampton Inn Alamogordo

This hotel had a great indoor pool that my kids loved. Staff were friendly and helpful. We had a double queen room for 5 people. This is partly my fault for not examining the reservation closely enough, but I don't understand how a double queen would even come up as an option for 5 people. That is not reasonable sleeping arrangements for a family of 5. At minimum you need a queen and a king.

This hotel is so clean and absolutely beautiful. Everything is brand new. The beds are comfortable. The indoor pool was so clear...the cleanest I have ever seen inside a hotel. And the staff were very accomodating and kind. My only gripe was the noise level during the night, which was not the hotel staff's fault. I did not call down to the front desk, so that is on me. But just a side note....if you are staying in a hotel, please be quiet after hours, don't stomp while you walk, talk quietly, and don't slam doors and run up and down the halls...and do not let your kids do it. We deal with this more often than not, and we just want to get a good night's sleep.

I had an issue trying to connect to Wi-Fi, I wanted to call front desk and the phone was not connected, I had to get clothes on to walk to the desk. We did not sleep well at all 1st the refrigerator fan made a noise all night, 2nd in the room across the hall were children screaming and running and hitting their door while playing again I couldn't call desk. Upon check out I asked for a receipt, she stated you Hampton do not give because we confirmed with a third party when the night b4 at a Hampton I asked and was given a check out receipt. I told her the fridge fan is bad she stated all the appliances are bad, when I complained about the kids noise, she stated that sometimes happens, she was very cold and her tone was... that's too bad, not once did she apologize. I always book stays with Hampton, now I will book with someone else.

Stayed here with family and had a pleasant stay. Room was nice and clean. Liked how it had bathroom essentials for use. Had plenty of towels and such for family. Had towels at pool for use. Breakfast was good and satisfying.

The interior is very modern. I like the atmosphere but that all went down from there. We arrived as a family of five with five luggage’s. Unloaded and went to the check in counter rep. She stated only the 2nd fl is avail as they were fully booked for the night. But I prebooked and prepaid for the room. Rep stated elevator is also broken and we would have to carry our luggage’s to the 2nd fl. We opted no choice but to agree because it was already night and I was too tired from driving. Rep only solution was to refund me and go look elsewhere.

No Hampton Inns for my family ever again! We reached and they said they were over booked and did not have the 2 queens we requested. We checked in at 2am and were exhausted. They did provide 2 roll away beds but that left us with barely any space to walk around. The rooms were tiny:( There was no information about the spa being closed and the pool was much colder than usual. The only one good thing about this hotel was this once very nice older lady who was helping at the Bfast side. She was absolutely a pleasure and was ever smiling and helpful.

I was happy to get adjoining rooms with my grandmother. It was very convenient because I have three boys that were able to move back and forth freely without disturbing other guests in the hallway and it felt like the rooms were even larger than expected. I would have liked a firmer pillow, but I guess I should have just brought my own. Also, the bathrooms don't lock because it is a barn door style and one of my kids walked in on me, so that is something that really needs to be corrected. My boys loved the indoor heated pool although the jacuzzi was out of order. The pool was large enough for all three of them and no one else was using it. This was the best continental breakfast I've ever had at a hotel. It wasn't just toast and cereal, but delicious waffles and cheese omelets with real eggs, not the dehydrated eggs either. Hampton Inn will be one of my first choices when looking for hotels in the future!
